She'd heard about Marlie a while back, of course -- everyone had, and it was -- well, she wasn't going to bring it up, because then he'd want to talk about her recent death, and she wasn't sure she was ready for that.
Heidi had been thinking a lot about things now that her ... husband was dead. They hadn't been together long before the marriage and she'd never ... well, maybe she'd settled. Thinking that had made her feel guilty for weeks, but it seemed more and more likely.
And it was something that made her feel a little less bad for being glad Vinny was here.
"...yeah," she agreed with a frown. "Not least because my cooking is probably going to be toxic."
