She nodded, interested in his face. Emmeline was always interested in Caradoc's face, but since his return there had been so much more going on. Emotions that she wasn't able to read, which worried and excited her. Things had changed, but it didn't feel like a bad thing like change usually was in her life. Change always meant that she was going to be miserable with her new circumstances, so a kind of change that exhilarated her in the loveliest of was was more than welcome.
Emmeline kept a neutral expression, however. As much as Caradoc had changed, she had too---her friends had commented about how terribly hard she was to read these days, when before the impacts of the war she had always been very expressive, unable to hide her feelings from her face. Maybe it was all the time she'd spent lying about her current state, but Emmeline felt relaxed enough that Caradoc wouldn't be able to tell how she really felt right now. It was strange. Were they lying to each other to keep everything normal and happy? She could deal with that.
"Absolutely," she agreed, pocketing her wand. Emmeline let out a breath and shook her head at how bad of an idea this windmill trip was, "Let's go back to the hotel," she said, feeling that they'd been forced to stray from their comfort zone for far too long now.
