sebastian a. goldstein ([info]sebclicks) wrote in [info]valesco,
He nearly wanted to strangle Sirius out of rage, when the other man had informed him that he had seen Mackenzie out in the town. Not--it was a rabid form of jealousy, why had Sirius been able to see his wife, to find her when Sebastian hadn't been able to look at her for months, for---He sucked in the freezing cold breath through his nose as he nodded. The jealousy he had felt this morning had quickly subsided, and now Sebastian stood, his eyes locked on the crowd for Mackenzie. He would be able to spot her in an instant, he had always been able to find her in a crowd, he had always been able to sense when she was near. He knew, he just knew--

"What was she wearing?" he muttered. Sebastian couldn't remember if he'd asked that before, but his brain had nearly shut when Sirius burst in with the news. He'd seen her. He'd seen Mackenzie. Mackenzie was alive. His Mackenzie was alive, she was moving around she was---in Russia, as a prisoner, but she was alive and close by. God, he had been tortured and nearly killed (on numerous occasions now, thanks to the Order) but he'd never been as hurt as he was since Mackenzie had gone missing. It was his fault, it was all his fault, and---

---she was alive. They hadn't killed her and left her in some ditch to never be found. She was going to see her babies again, she was going to come home to her friends, they--he'd have her back, and he could start living again.

"Did you say?"
