"Not particularly," she answered as they continued to walk down the sidewalk. Not that she was complaining or anything, but she would have liked to reach their destination sooner rather than later and wondered how long she was going to be kept in the dark. Traversing downtown London streets late in the evening in heels and a long dress was not Cecilia's most distinct idea of a fabulous time. For a moment she toyed with the idea of inviting him back to her flat, but quickly dispelled the thought. Such things could easily give a man the wrong idea--an idea that she wanted no man, even an acquaintance, to get when it came to her.
Besides, her house elf had been entirely useless lately. She was certain that the place was nowhere near her guest-entertaining standards.
"I speak a small bit of French, but I learned much of it when I was a child and unfortunately the education was not followed up," she explained, taking one hand to pick up her skirt and ensure it did not drag on the ground. One never knew what kinds of things could have walked there before and she did not want any of it on her clothes. "I also managed to pick up an ounce or two of Italian from overseas trips and these sorts of operas. I imagine you must speak fluent Swedish, though, yes?"
