The problem with what Bianca said after he caught her elbow was that he'd just been going to ask her whether she was really that underwhelmed by the wedding. He blinked, arching a brow at her.
"...well, that wasn't what I would have jumped to first. Exactly
why are you flooing my mother?"
Bertram was trying very hard to be a good best man at the wedding; unfortunately, that meant not drinking much at all and simply worrying about everyone else around him. Bianca had seemed so excited about the evening that he had been sure she wouldn't be one of the people he needed to fuss after.
Apparently she was, though.
He supposed that if he thought about it, it was probably something to do with Aaron - but Bertram was confident in his mother's ability to take care of children and they were only going to be gone for
one night.
