Having been ready to curl up and lay there with him for a little while, she hadn't been expecting for her companion to suddenly speak and become distracted from the situation. Cecilia couldn't help the pout that overtook her smile, a long-practiced maneuver she'd executed on countless men in her time when she was displeased or otherwise hoping to regain their attention. Reaching up with the most pathetic look in her eyes that she could muster, she ran her fingers back through Cael's hair and tilted her head to the side.
"Are you leaving already?"
The words came out of her mouth before she could think about the weight they held, or why she was so concerned with him staying. In fact, she didn't want to think about that, because she wasn't supposed to be so put off by the fact that he was concerned with the time. The realization that she was, and that the tugging in her chest that wanted to tell him to stay a bit longer, was frightening.
No, no... that had been a mistake, she instantly thought, feeling a twinge of panic. What was she saying? She shouldn't say anything like that. Instantly, she dropped her hand and did her best to wipe the pout off her face, forcing herself to turn her head to look out into the living room instead. Anything but up at his face. Eyes moving to the clock on the mantle of the fireplace, Cecilia let her best fake surprised gasp escape her lips and moved to slip out from her position on the couch.
"Oh, god, it is getting late, isn't it? You've probably got to--work tomorrow, right?" she attempted to recover.
