Ah, there he was.

"I was beginning to think you decided to climb out the restroom window and abandon me here," she said with a small smile of her own. She lifted up her glass and took a sip of it, glad that using her metal hand was starting to feel natural. For months after she'd lost her hand she'd tried to learn to do things left-handed, which had ended with a lot of spilled drinks and plates dropped on the floor.

Learning to do spells and charms and things would've been out of the question, and she hadn't wanted to blow herself up again because of some sort of misguided desire to be able to use her 'natural' limbs to cast spells. Once she'd given in to her hand, she'd found it wasn't really so different. She pushed up and out of her chair, wanting Darien to know that she was in fact happy to see him -- and leaned in to kiss his cheek briefly.

"I'm glad you didn't abandon me, at least. Have you had enough to drink yet to pretend you're having a good time?" Because if he hadn't, she supposed she could get him something from the bar since she had been the one to drag him here despite his apparent lack of enthusiasm. She had spent enough time being (and being around people who were) depressed that she could tell something was off about Darien, but she didn't think she really had the right to ask him what was wrong unless he opened up to her about it first.
