She tried very hard not to start crying on their venture out of the hall. Maybe she was just at an emotional time of the month, but she didn't think that was the case. She'd never felt completely comfortable around this sort of crowd, but she'd been more enthralled with being with Caden to really notice. But now? With all the talk of relationships breaking up and people getting caught with significant others that were not their own Estella just...the thoughts overwhelmed her.
Not that she believed Caden could ever betray her trust. No, that wasn't the issue at all. As they walked the pavement and away from the party, all Estella could think about was how boring she must seem compared to all these other women. Merlin, that was a terrible thought. She knew her husband, she loved her husband, her mind shouldn't be clouded with the ideas of disappointing him and deeming herself unworthy. She really was the worst Slytherin in the world.
Estella gripped onto Caden's hands tightly, her shoulders slumped in defeat.
"Everyone there was so impressive, Caden," she let out, feeling foolish, but this was her husband. She could let out her fears and insecurities with him, she knew, even if she did feel silly for it, "And I'm sitting there thinking...if they ask me something, I've got nothing interesting to say just---I'm a teacher, I dance, that's----and they're all so bloody tall and skinny, and bloody Amazons is what they are."
Her face was a bright red now, and part of her wanted to tell Caden that he never had to bring her to one of these things again, "I'm so boring, Caden."
