Who: Delilah and Joey
What: She got caught stalking Charlie
When: Um.. backdated to last week :D
Where: Some Cafe in Kenmare
Status: Finishing in Comments.

Delilah stood outside the Kestrel pitch trying to decide whether or not to go in. She was bored, and not being able to find anything to do, she ended up at Charlie’s flat by default. But he wasn’t home, hence the standing outside the pitch. She felt like it was to late for practice to still be going on, but they had lost their last match and Rupert was practically insane so, she could very well be wrong.

Speaking of, Delilah really didn’t feel like dealing with the french man at all today, which there was the possibility of that happening if she were to venture inside. And Charlie, there was something going on with him, even if he did try to hide it. Perhaps this wasn’t the best of ideas after all.

Delilah turned and made her way to the small cafe just down the street for cup of coffee. She grabbed a seat on the patio and watched people wander by in the nice afternoon weather. She would sit there long enough to finish a cup to see if she could catch her brother leaving and if not, she’d track him down later.

To say that they were being run through the ringer would be an understatement. Their loss against the Wasps had brought a new onslaught of frustration--that generally got taken out on everyone. Joey was trying to make the most of it all, putting in as much effort as possible through everything. But it wasn’t easy to keep himself running at full speed, he was finding. Which brought him to his current predicament. Should he take himself home and just pass out from exhaustion, or should he attempt to get a few more hours out of his day with the assistance of caffeine?

As soon as the now daily scolding had wrapped up, Joey grabbed a quick shower before tossing his things together, throwing his bag over his shoulder, and making his way down the street to the familiar cafe. The weather seemed beautiful, and the semi-familiar face outside was enough added benefit for sitting outside to enjoy a coffee.

Carefully balancing his personal items and the cup, he made his way out to the patio, sitting far enough away to not look completely creepy but not so far that a conversation would be difficult to have.

Delilah perked up at the definitely familiar face that just walked by. Familiar but she just couldn’t place where she knew him from. She didn’t bother trying to hide the fact that she was stareing at him because she was going to speak up eventually but she had to be careful. If she were wrong, and starting talking about dueling or quidditch and this was just some random stranger, she would look crazy.

She sipped her coffee, studying the guy just a table over. She had definitely seen him recently. “Excuse me.” she said after a couple of moments, finally giving up. “Where do I know you from?”

“I’m--I’m not sure where you know me from?” he said slowly, relaxing into his chair. The more he looked at her, the more familiar she seemed. “Well...I suppose if you follow sports you might recognize me,” he added, furrowing his eyebrows. He took another sip of his coffee, trying to decide how to proceed at this point. On the one hand, he could tell her his name...but if she turned out to be one of those crazy stalker fans, he would severely regret that decision. Then again, if she were in that category, wouldn’t she already know his name? Unless it was all an act so that he would feel comfortable divulging personal information....This was tricky.

Delilah tilted her head slightly looking at him closer. He was being evasive. But he did give her the sports bit and... “Oh! You’re the new guy on Charlie’s team.” She said, feeling a bit silly as it finally clicked. She noticed someone different on the team at the last game, how long he’d actually been there she couldn’t say but that is definitely where she knew him from.

And if he was here, drinking coffee, that meant that practice was over. Delilah quickly scanned the street for any signs of her twin, but he had either not seen her or snuck off while she was distracted. Hmph. Oh well, at least she wasn’t sitting alone anymore. She turned her attention back to Charlie’s new team mate... whose name she couldn’t remember, and held her hand out to him. “I’m Delilah, by the way.” she said introducing herself.

Joey took her hand in a shake. “Joey,” he said, a sheepish smile on his face. So she knew Charlie, then? He hadn’t noticed her around before, but he generally tried his best to focus when on the pitch or at the stadium. “So are you around here often?” he asked, trying to make small talk as he drank his coffee. His mind was so bogged down with plays and all the nagging and just--yes. It was hard to stay focused, but he needed to at the moment. He hated to look rude, after all.

“More often than I feel I should be.” Delilah said with a small laugh. “I come out for the games mostly, but if I need to find Charlie, the pitch is usually a safe bet. Today it seems I have miss him though.” She shrugged her shoulders. No big deal, she only came out here out of boredom, and here she was less bored already.

“So how are you liking being a Kestrel? Rumor has it that you all have matching tattoos now.” she tried hiding the fact that she was laughing just a little, but wasn’t doing a very good job of it.

“Oh, the switch has been interesting,” he said slowly, trying to think of the best wording for the situation. “Definitely different than Montrose, but I’m enjoying the atmosphere. And playing for my home team, of course.” He let out a hearty laugh at the mention of the tattoos. “Ah, yeah...I’m not sure who’s doing those are, but I’m sorely tempted to blame Charlie for that. I imagine I got off better than others, though, as far as placement goes.” His shoulder blade was still a touch sore, but he didn’t have a lot of regret over it. The solid mix of camaraderie with his current team and his adopting the team when he was young certainly helped out.

“Magpies huh. That is a change. Well, a move up if you ask me. Ireland is much better than Scotland. Not that I’m at all biased.” Which she was, completely.

“I pretty sure that’s a safe bet. I’d blame him too if I were you. Actually I blame him for things quite often.” Delilah said still laughing a bit. “Just be glad all you got was a tattoo. I’m impressed no one got arrested, honestly.”

Joey laughed. “Yeah, I guess you can put it that way. Definitely a change, though. Still trying to adjust back to being a chaser.” He hadn’t put much thought into just how lucky they were after their trip to Germany. Then again, out of everyone on the team, Joey was fairly certain he was on the tame end of the spectrum. He’d never been to wild and crazy, unlike other quidditch players. Maybe that was just the Ravenclaw in him showing through.

“So, how do you know everyone? You seem to know a lot about the team and all.” He wasn’t meaning to pry, of course but he was still getting to know everything. And he would hate to get comfortable in conversation with her just to divulge information to a stalker or something.

“Oh well that’s because I do my best to make sure to know everything about Charles Spinnet. Some people call it stalking, but I just like to think of it as taking an invested interest.” Delilah said taking the opportunity to mess with the new kid just a little bit.

But she couldn’t hold her serious expression for more than a moment or too. The look on Joey’s face was just too priceless. “I’m joking” she managed between laughs. “If I were to stalk a quidditch player, it would be Tristan Bardera. He’s just so pretty.” She sighed over her cup of coffee.

“Oh. Sorry. Seriously though. Charlie is my twin. I’m not a stalker. In fact, I really wouldn’t care about quidditch at all if he didn’t play.” Poor kid, probably though she was crazy by now.

Joey laughed, a bit uncomfortable at first before relaxing. Ohhhh, so this was his sister. Well, everything was certainly making a lot more sense now. “I think that last comment was blasphemy,” he said, trying to look as serious as possible. “There’s nothing uninteresting about Quidditch, after all.”

“So, what do you do, then? I mean, you must have a rather interesting job. At least you seem the type.” Bugger. He was going to pretend that he wasn’t rambling. Yup, just drink the coffee...Merlin.

Delilah just rolled her eyes. Such a typical response from a quidditch player. But she couldn’t help but sit up a bit straighter when he asked what she did. She absolutely loved her job. Practically beamed anytime it came up. “Oh my job is way more interesting than playing quidditch.” she teased.
“I’m a pro-dueler. Quidditch isn’t the only sport you can make money in.” She took a sip of her coffee frowning realizing that it was almost gone. “Have you ever gone to a dueling match?”

Joey shook his head. “I can honestly say that I haven’t,” he replied. “Sounds really interesting though,” he added. He wondered what a professional dueling match might look like. “Though, if I were being honest, I would probably play Quidditch money or not. It’s just a very nice benefit of the arrangement.” he ignored the quip about dueling being more interesting, of course. Maybe she had a point. There were probably a few variables that really brought in different elements, at least. “What made you decide to go into professional dueling?”

“True. I’d duel money or not too.” she clarified, although she didn’t want to admit how close she was to doing just that. “Hmm, probably the same reasons you got into professional quidditch. I just love it so much, and I’m really good at it. It’s just such a rush. I can’t get enough of it.” Delilah explained, excitement seeping into her voice. I was hard to put into words what it was like to be in a duel.

“I actually hadn’t even thought of other career options since I joined the dueling club at school. Which is actually pretty stupid in retrospect. I would have been in a bind if I hadn’t managed to make it professionally. Anyways, you should check out a duel sometime, if you can manage it. I think you’d like it.”

Joey smiled as he watched her facial expressions. She looked genuinely excited about her job and explaining it to him. “Well, you make it sound so interesting,” he said with a smile. “I’ll have to see if it fits in with the schedule. You obviously know how crazy Axe can get when it comes to practices and the like.”

“Because it is!” Delilah said illustrating her point with her hands. “Sorry, I really can’t help it. I’m sure you understand. Just talking about it makes me want to get my wand and find a partner to duel with. Charlie doesn’t like to play anymore. I think its because he doesn’t like to lose.”

She finished her coffee, debating if she wanted more or not. “Ah yes. Rupert.” Delilah said wrinkling her nose. “I don’t know how you put up with him for extended periods of time. He’s just so...french.”
