"You pick!" Rebecca shouted over her shoulder, making a beeline toward her well-concealed drawer. She could barely hold down the piece of toast she had three hours ago, she could not even think of taking anything in, especially anything that wasn't going to tell her if she was pregnant or not.
Maybe she should have Euan hold her hand, but Rebecca's mind was too frazzled to care as she rummaged through the clothes and pulled up a vial. She had taken so many of these tests that she was sure her batch was botched, but she'd gotten them replenished and the results remained the same. Rebecca knew that it was only logical to keep testing because how else could she know for sure? She couldn't wait to see her belly growing or for her contractions to start, so...this was just the smart and right thing to do, no matter how much it hurt and caused her chest to heave with nervous breaths.
Rebecca shut her eyes after finishing the test and walked towards Euan's voice, holding it out for him because she couldn't bear to look.
"Euan!" she called out, though she heard his footsteps drawing near already. Rebecca sat on the edge of their bed, leg bouncing rapidly, "What's it doing? I can't look!"
