danielle r. rookwood ([info]curador) wrote in [info]valesco,
At approximately eight weeks and two days pregnant, Danielle was literally feeling every symptom ever known to any pregnant woman in the history of pregnant women. Her morning sickness was not only morning sickness, but morning, afternoon, evening, and midnight sickness. She had to go to the bathroom at least three times an hour, which really put a damper on her rounds, and she'd found herself falling asleep against the wall of the lifts in the hospital, ending up on floors she hadn't visited in years.

It was all really quite frustrating, and if she was someone who believed in bad luck, Danielle would think that all of her studying and research about pregnancy and its affects had triggered some curse that was set upon her. She was however trying her best to seem upbeat and enthusiastic about it all, because she was, but mostly when she was lying down doing nothing so that she didn't have to worry about her aches and pains clouding her happy thoughts. There were many happy thoughts, like after they had decided to find out the sex, thinking about how much fun a little boy was going to be. Girls, Danielle had decided were too difficult to understand, so she was glad that their first child was going to be a boy.

Which was what she kept saying tonight when she had nothing else to say to Donovan's co-workers. Danielle had never been someone who liked attention, but she couldn't deny that her spirits lifted when they cooed that she was simply glowing. That was the extent of it however, and all the questions that their friends had asked were still swirling around her head, wondering when exactly they would have an answer for all of them. When should they decide on a theme for the nursery?

"I could fall asleep in those bushes if it wasn't so cold out," Danielle responded, leaning heavily into Donovan, for warmth and because she was so tired. The fresh air did feel good, however, and she hadn't felt a wave of nausea since they stepped outside.
