Veronica was still trying to get used to being at this kind of event as a
guest, opposed to being someone who was hidden in the background, setting up trays of cookies and 5 tier cakes. Sure, she had been invited once or twice by Drystan and Bess, or even Griff and West, but she never felt truly comfortable standing around without a date.
This time was different though. She wasn't just there to support her brother-in-law, or Griff, or even West. No, she was there for one man in particular - a man who she only recently crossed a very big line with, which lead out of the friend zone and into the realm of dating.
Her fingers twisted behind her back as she waited at the top of the stairs, scanning over the crowd in order to find one particularly tall blonde. A smile crossed her features before she would tuck her bottom lip under her upper row of teeth - a display that meant she was excited, and made her way towards the stairs, carefully making her way down them, praying she wouldn't twist her ankle and crash to the bottom. It would have been one hell of an entrance.
She breathed out a sigh of relief when she made it down alive, and then stepped forward to where Rich was located. She waited until his eyes were on her, and her smile bloomed into something genuine, yet nervous.
"I'm not interrupting anything, am I?"
