bess d. fawcett ([info]bestzeller) wrote in [info]valesco,
"I am a bit chilly," she admitted, turning to her husband.

Bess would have regretted having checked her cloak when first entering the train, but the goosebumps she had now were worth the gawking she'd received when the material had fallen from her shoulders. It helped to know and have reiterated that her husband appreciated her costume, especially when she wasn't feeling as confident in it as she let on. That was silly, just thinking it! Bess, not feeling as if she was the prettiest woman in the room?

What was the world coming to?

"Do you see anything you like?" Bess asked, looking back at table.

She could probably manage to duplicate some of these as Veronica had been giving her some tips. Bess had never liked not being good at something, and now that she had this desire to bake, cook, and simply create, a lot of her energy was going toward it. She knew tonight was supposed to be fun, as they sorely needed it, but her thoughts kept going back to how off kilter she'd been in recent weeks.
