He was beautiful.
Scarlett had gathered this much in the split second she laid eyes on him before he'd kissed her. On any other night she would have twisted his arm and flipped him on his back as she had been taught to do; her father was a former hit-wizard and before Scarlett could ride a broomstick she was able to knock the teasing boy across the street straight on his behind without breaking a sweat. Right now, however, the last thing she wanted to do was to push his warm body away from hers. Scarlett's arms snaked around the man's neck, completely enthralled in every aspect of him. His broad shoulders, the wonderful scent of his cologne, his arms around her were so strong and Scarlett actually found herself pushing her self up, her foot raising as if being compelled to float away.
Her foggy mind began to clear as her lips parted and moved against his, and a sudden, loud banging began to rap furiously around in her head. She did not know him, he had grabbed her, and now he was snogging her! It should have scared her enough to push him away, but apparently her good judgement coming back to life was not enough to push her out of this ecstasy. Even though her mind had realized that this bloke had seemingly plucked her out of the crowd to be his first kiss of the New Year without asking, Scarlett continued to kiss him for a few more lingering seconds. She pulled back, but not very far away, her arms still wrapped around him. There wasn’t an inch between them, and she let out a heavy breath.
Scarlett’s eyes jumped all across his face. His eyes were the perfect shade of blue, how could she possibly be mad that he’d chosen to kiss her?
“Why me?” the question came out in a careful whisper. Scarlett blinked furiously, unsure of anything at the moment, her eyes still seeing stars.
