He'd lost Larkin a long while ago, but
Ethan knew they hadn't been meant to stick around each other for long. It was just better arriving with someone than strolling in on your lonesome. Still, he figured that he should probably still be around his friend when the clock struck midnight so he made his way through the crowd. Not that he had any idea where Larkin actually was, but it seemed like the team of curse-breakers had developed a knack for finding each other in sticky situations. He'd bumped into Samantha at least four times already and would have said the same about Nico if his mate would ever allow himself to be caught dead wearing dress robes.
Ethan hadn't been to a party like this in a long while. It was good seeing familiar faces and he was glad to finally be back into the swing of things. He kept his injured arm tucked neatly under his jacket and had quite fortunately hadn't had to explain anything to anyone. It seemed like everyone had developed some tact over the past few years.
He stopped in front of the bar to get a drink that he could cheer with as the clock struck midnight. Ethan downed his champagne quickly, looking around to see if there was anyone to kiss (hey, he knew he was a handsome bloke!). Some of the sparkles of fireworks landed on his face and he brushed it off, but soon he couldn’t be bothered with a minor annoyance like that. His eyes locked onto the pretty little bird with the short hair by the bar. Wasting no time, Ethan dropped his glass and strode forward.
Stopping in front of her, his mind a daze, he said with a wicked smile, “I’m going to kiss you now,” and pushed forward to snog her senseless against the bar counter.
