h e n r y ([info]fictitious) wrote in [info]valesco,
Henry was experiencing the worst migraine of his life. The pounding in his head would not stop and it had been thudding against his skull for what felt like weeks. How had a short trip to the pediatrician lead to an overnight stay at the hospital? Not even for his son, but for--for the fiancee that he had insisted stay home. Henry had all but pushed Heidi back under the covers, and then he'd left her alone for hours! Precious hours that could have been spent keeping down the fever that had knocked Heidi nearly unconscious and unable to move on her own. He was the one that had joked with her about going to the healer, only to leave her behind when he went to Mungo's.

How could he have been so stupid?

He barely acknowledged Seth's arrival, only slightly nodding his head that was buried in his hands. Henry was so used to being the one cleaning up the mess, he was the fixer.

"I can't even see her," Henry said hollowly, as he finally set back. He stared hard at the wall across the room and shook his head. "I'm not allowed until---they run more tests."
