Charlie leaned close, ducking under the brim of her hat and his eyes crossing as he attempted to keep them in contact with Penny's.
"I'm a right brute," he said lowly, seriously. Then, a moment later, a smile swept across his face and he kissed her nose quickly before sitting back. The weekend was turning out to be a great success, and it was always nice to be outside and in the sun. Charlie was a bloke who, while he did enjoy lounging about, was almost always covered in grass stains. Whether it be because of a pickup quidditch match or wrestling Octavius to the ground, it didn't matter.
He liked being outdoors with Penelope, too. Their first 'date' consisted of a night in the park, under the stars, and Charlie recognized it as a pivotal point in his life. Not being romantic, though ultimately it did turn into that, but it was always so hard for him to admit failures and insecurities, but lying beside Penny that night had let him feel like it wasn't a terrible thing, to admit things that weren't all that great.
Of course, he'd discovered later on about the secrets she'd been keeping, but. Charlie wasn't perfect, he didn't think Penny was, but he'd watched her grow and get better and that feeling of pride swelled in his chest. His arm lying on the back of the bench slid over her shoulders and he pulled her to his side.
"It'd be very easy to make them super jealous," he said teasingly, stretching out his legs.
