One of her eyebrows cocked up, and Rose looked at Thomas with relative surprise. He could believe it? Old? She didn't feel very old; when had it been decided that 26 was old? Learned, maybe, or experienced.... a little, but not old. Weren't you supposed to know what the hell you were doing when you were 'old'? Rose looked down at her lap, fingers having already returned to stringing her ring of flowers together while enjoying the sun and leisure time.
"Well I don't feel very old," she produced a few beats later, tone very matter-of-fact. Rose nodded as she finished off her work, raising it up in the air to inspect for final touches. Deeming it fit (and noticing out of the corner of her eye that Thomas' only free, and therefore preventable hand, was still currently occupied with a frosty treat), she without hesitation reached over to drop the headpiece on his head.
It shimmered an eye-catching bronze-blue in the sunlight.
"Everyone here is just extremely young," Rose decided, pleased with her handiwork and her logic. She smiled faintly, lightened by the sight of Thomas appearing to be... not as burdened as he had been over the past couple months. Perhaps returning to Hogwarts would do some good, help remind him of a simpler time in which everything wasn't so serious or potentially life-threatening.
Her gaze strayed slightly for a moment, wandering back toward the path that ran along the lake and toward the pitch. A couple of older students, possibly 6th or 7th years, were walking along, very much enwrapped in their own little worlds. She continued to watch them for a bit, before suddenly asking, "Is this where you thought you'd be 7th year?"
Rose blinked quickly, a bit startled with her own bluntness, but she couldn't help but feel, while watching these students, that who she had been then was... never had she thought the life she lived, had now would be her future. Her face complexed for a second before turning all attention back to Thomas.
