Who: Ludo Bagman and Kalista Rosier
What: Birthday celebrationnnn...and Ludo being a girl and despite the icon, nothing has happened...yet. (Ludo's allowed to dream, right?)
Where: the Quidditch Pitch
When: March 30th
*Finishing it up in comments

Birthdays were very, very good days. Ludo was leaning casually against a set of stands on the pitch, waiting for Kalista to show up. He didn't expect anything major to happen--and he certainly wasn't going to push her to do something she didn't feel comfortable doing. He just wanted to talk things over, figure out what was holding her back and where they stood...and if they ended up snogging instead, he'd probably be okay with that. After all, it was all up to him what they did. He smirked a little to himself, looking over at the broomstick leaning against the wall beside him and the blanket lying just beside it, curious which she'd rather go with.

She had to be out of her mind. Damn it, this whole thing with Bagman should have ended right after it had started. Actually, it never should have started at all, but it did and now she was stuck in it. It wasn’t even supposed to be anything at all! It was supposed to be casual snogging, and then she would go her own way and he would go his, and they wouldn’t spend any time ‘talking’ or being intimate or anything like that. Damn it. DAMN IT. And now it was his birthday, and she had to at least be a little bit nice to him. Well, she didn’t have to be, but some part of her felt obligated. So, she was going to meet him at 7.

Walking across the Quidditch pitch, she crossed her arms over her chest as a warm breeze blew through her hair, across her skin. Her hand rose to push back her blonde strands, spotting Ludo standing just a few feet away, waiting for her. Sighing, she approached him and looked at what he had brought, raising a brow before she turned back to him. “So what did you have in mind?”

Way to get right to the point.

Ludo laughed. "Well, hello to you, too." She looked really nice. "Well...I didn't know how you feel about flying," he said slowly, "So I brought a back up plan in case you're completely against it." See? Ludo Bagman was a very thoughtful man when he wasn't trying to show up other blokes and prove that he was tough or whatever it was that blokes did around each other. He studied her face carefully, trying to get a read on her opinion before she had to explicitly spell it out for him.

“I don’t fly.” She said this suddenly as she stared down at the broom, placing her thumbs into the pockets of her jeans. Her eyes stayed on it before she looked up at Ludo. “I’ve never been good at it, and I hate heights. Evan was the Quidditch player of the family, not me.” She began to twist her torso a bit, just standing there, chewing at the inside of her cheek. “So what’s option number 2?” So maybe she wasn’t acting much nicer than she normally would even though it was his birthday, but she had to keep remembering that it was his birthday. So. It would take a little while for her to warm up.

He stepped a little closer to her, a bit sad that the flying was out of the question. "It's probably not as good as the first plan, but...I'm not going to make you fly if you're not comfortable with it." He crouched down to grab the blanket before gently tugging one of her hands from her pockets and nudging her a bit to follow him. He stopped somewhere near the horizontal center of the pitch, but still out of view from the entrance. She'd probably like it better that way. Quickly unfurling the blanket he gave her what could best be described as a sheepish smile. "I figure that the sun's basically gone, and the stars are always brill out here. We can just...talk or not talk or you know, whatever you feel more comfortable with." Maybe she didn't want to do this at all. Unfortunately, he had no option three. And it was his birthday, so she needed to agree.

Kal quirked her brow once again as she looked down at the blanket, but didn’t tug her hand away as he took it in his own to lead her somewhere. She followed behind him, her sneakers moving over the grass beneath her as she looked around. If anyone were to catch them holding hands, she could just say that he had grabbed a hold of her and was practically dragging her across the Quidditch field…even though no one would believe that she would ever let him do something like that. Anyone who tried something that stupid with a Rosier would surely be hexed before they took their second step.

Once they stopped, Kalista watched him lay out the blanket, her hands going back to her pockets as she tilted her head, listening to him speak. She couldn’t help the smirk that eventually crept across her features, shaking her head as she tucked some hair behind her ear. “You are such a girl, Bagman.” With that, she rolled her eyes, sighed, and took a few steps foreward before she carefully lowered herself down on the blanket, crossing her ankles as her legs extended, sitting upright as she leaned back on her hands. Her eyes traveled up to him, brows raised. “Well?” She gestured down to the spot beside her, waiting for him to sit down as she tilted her head back to look at the sky. “What do you want to talk about?”

Ludo let out a huff...mostly for show. "Well, one of us has to act like a girl," he said teasingly as he sat next to her, not bothering to put a large amount of distance between them. "Hmmm, you know...I didn't even think you'd agree to this," he said, scratching the back of his head before reclining all the way back, head now on the ground. "I know you have some sort of--front that you have to keep but I'm still trying to figure out why things like house are so important to you. It's not that important past where I end up sleeping at night, honestly." He was a strong believer that half the time everyone at the school could fit in in any of the four houses. It all depended on what was more important to them overall when they were so young.

Her eyes narrowed a bit at his comment. “I act like a girl. I’m just not a nice girl. There’s a difference.” Watching him take his seat, she shifted a little bit, and once again remained quiet as he spoke. She continued to stare up at at the dimly lit sky before she turned her head to look down at him, staring for a moment before she shook her head. Scooting forward, she too laid down on the blanket, her hair folding beneath her head. “It just is. You wouldn’t get it.” Her hands folded on her stomach, her knees bent. She didn’t look over to him, but continued to stare up, waiting for it to be dark enough to see the stars, and get the full effect of the moon.

Just because Kalista acted like a cold hard bitch all the time, that didn’t mean she didn’t have a soft spot for things like star gazing and stuff like that.

"Right, my mistake." He bit his tongue from saying more on the subject; he knew that somewhere deep down there was a small smidgen of nice in her...he just had to find it. And bring it out. Of course he wouldn't understand the intricacies of houses. He never understood anything, did he? He let out a slow sigh, wanting to wrap his arm around her but not entirely sure how to go about it. He had a few things moving around his mind; beside things with Kalista, he was worried about NEWTs and the Quidditch cup. Add on the fact that there were only 82 short days of school left before he was thrown out into the real world and Ludo was in a right panic. How on earth was he going to find a decent job in that amount of time? He still hadn't heard back from the Ministry on his application and was now wondering if he even would. The silence between them was good for some self reflection. "It'd be our luck for it to be cloudy tonight," he murmured, still gazing up at the sky. So far, so good...but now that he'd said it a surprise spring thunderstorm would probably pick up on them.

Her eyes shifted over to him, her knees moving together, before she looked to the sky as he changed the subject. “Well, for now it seems pretty clear.” Might as well add to the conversation, to avoid going back to that whole house segregation topic. She shifted on the blanket once more, making herself comfortable as she dropped one hand down to the blanket, still keeping the other resting on her stomach. “It’s nice out.” Her head turned to him. “If there are clouds I just hope they’re not rain clouds. Because, that would definitely suck, and I would probably hurt you for dragging me out here to get stuck in the rain…even if it is your birthday.” By now, she had a small smirk on her features as she turned to look up, staring at the moon, which still wasn’t as bright as it could have been since there was still sunlight in the sky. She was quiet for a few moments before she turned back to him. “Happy birthday, by the way.” She tried to make it seem like she was nonchalant about the whole thing, like it was just something she had to say, and not something that she actually meant.

"Getting stuck in the rain could be fun," he mused, giving her a small smile as he thought things over. He watched her carefully as she turned back to the sky, then once more back to him. "Just another day, right?" he replied calmly, letting his hand fall down close to hers...just to test the waters. "When's your birthday? I don't think I've ever asked before," he said slowly, now looking back up at the sky. He bit the inside of his cheek, trying to fight off his worries about the rest of the school year. He wanted to talk to her about work or quidditch or anything but...quidditch would be a bad topic especially since the next match for him was against Slytherin. He looked back over at her, waiting to catch her eyes.

"Exactly." She said with a raise of her eyebrows, only to look back up, avoiding eye contact as she saw his hand drop down. It was strange that she was tempted to move her own just a little to the right to just brush against his, accidentally of course. But, she didn’t. Instead, she curled her fingers gently into the blanket they were laying on. She would probably never admit to the fact that even though they weren’t doing anything, and were just laying there out on the Quidditch field, she was having a decent time. She actually liked being around him, which freaked her out.

Ugh, he probably wouldn’t ever understand why houses were so important to her, because he didn’t get what her friends and family were like. No, she was supposed to date a Slytherin, because that was just how things worked. She was just lucky that Ludo was pureblood, because if he wasn’t, then there would be a serious problem.

“No, you haven’t. But then again, we don’t do much talking when we’re around each other, so I don’t see when you would have thought about asking. You’re usually far too distracted.” She smirked and glanced over at him before turning away once more. “But, if you really must know, it’s May 24th.”

She was right, he probably wouldn't understand. Then again, he was a carefree Hufflepuff, so he didn't have to worry about all of that. Then again, Ludo was good at carefree; it made life simple and enjoyable.

"Hmmm, you do have a point there," he said with a grin that turned into a smirk when she glanced at him. He paused, trying to lodge that date in his memory. He'd have to remember that if they were still talking at that point. "May's not too bad. At least you don't have to worry about surprise snow storms, yeah?" Unless she liked snow...did she like snow? There were a million things he wanted to know and all at once.

“Yes, well, I usually do have a point to whatever it is I’m saying, or I wouldn’t bother saying it at all.” Once again, she turned her head to him, watching as his grin faded away. Oh, it was understandable why he was grinning, so she didn’t blame him at all for doing so. A brow lifted at his bizarre comment about the snow, wondering why, of all the things, that was one of the reasons why May wasn’t so bad. “Well, you don’t usually have to worry about surprise snow storms after the first couple of weeks of March, now do you? Besides…you know what they say. April showers bring May flowers. Just another reason for May to be absolutely fabulous.”

"I remember having snow on my birthday when I was six or so," he replied with a laugh. It didn't stay for very long, but it was very exciting to wake up to all the 'white stuff' falling around him.

Ludo shifted so that he was lying on his side, facing her. The sky still had some time before they could really look at the stars, he reasoned, so there was nothing wrong with looking at her until then. "Flowers and pretty girls. That just about sums up May for me, then," he said, trying to hold back a smirk. He didn't want her to think he was too cocky, after all.

"Huh...something weird and freaky like snow in March happening on your birthday. It's rather fitting, actually." She watched him shift onto his side, keeping her eyes focused on him, the tiniest hint of playfulness heard in each word she spoke. She didn't want to make it too obvious that she wasn't being a complete bitch, right? It was sort of like she wanted to keep him baited, seeing how long he could stand her being her usual self before she revealed that she had a soft spot. It was just...she had a hard wall around it.

Kalista's mouth curved up into a smirk, looking rather pleased with his summary of the month. "Yes, well, I don't see what could be more important than that." It was then that she turned her head to look up at the sky again, even though she glanced over him quickly before looking back up, now able to see a couple of stars, but not many since it wasn't that dark yet. "So I'm going to guess that you don't do this very often...unless you're pathetic enough to sneak out of the castle at night to stargaze by yourself."

He didn't reply to her prodding him about his birthday; she already had enough ammo without him adding to it; ignoring was always a better option.

Ludo Bagman, if nothing else, aimed to please. He listened carefully as she spoke before rolling his eyes up to look at the sky. "Not really. The most stargazing that I've done is during astronomy," he replied slowly. "But no, I've never actually come out here and laid out on a blanket; not even with another bird." He smirked, rolling once again to his back. "You should feel very, very lucky you know." When he repositioned himself, he let his hand move closer to hers; close enough that it felt as if they were touching, but not so close that they actually were.

Her own eyes rolled at his attempt to make her feel 'special', even though she had to actually bite back the urge to smile just a little bit. It might have been obvious, since her cheeks had twitched a little bit, but she was sure he hadn't noticed. It was too dark. But her cheeks were really the last thing she was focusing on, after feeling his hand get so close to hers. She stared at him, her fingers once again gripping at the fabric of the blanket before she looked away, deciding that if she moved her hand just a little bit, it wouldn't be her fault that it brushed against his, right? It was his own fault for being so close to her.

"Hmm...right, sure, lucky."

Sure he was saying it to make her feel special, but it was true. He hadn't been looking at her or her cheeks, and by the time he did she was talking again. He felt a knot in his stomach as her hand brushed against his and--even though he was a strong, macho bloke, he couldn't help but to swallow nervously.

"Lucky probably wasn't the right word, was it?" He mused as he let his hand fall palm side up, his thumb softly brushing against her wrist. It was an open invitation--if she wanted to grab his hand, it was there. If not, she could just keep gripping at the blanket and ignore it.

She felt a chill run up her arm as his thumb brushed against her wrist, taking a quiet and long breath before she exhaled a nasal sigh, tucking her lip between her teeth, trying her best to not make eye contact or look at thier hands. "I don't think it was." There was a pause before she just...gave in to the temptation to let her hand creep over just a little bit so her fingers trailed over his palm, finally bringing her eyes to meet his. "Don't know what word is the right one, but I don't think it's lucky."

Had to at least have a little edge, right? Couldn't break that wall down all at once.

He tried very hard to hold back the smirk of joy that formed when her hand brushed over his. He stared at her, thinking. Maybe he thought that he was the lucky one. "Hmmm...it's going to take me a while to come up with another word, you know," he said slowly, trying not to look down at their hands as well.

Instead, he leaned over and placed a soft kiss on her lips. Nothing overly demanding, just...a kiss. Ugh, it was his birthday. He was allowed to do this right? Without feeling guilty?

"Not surprising." She said, even though her words were a bit flat. But really, he kept walking right into new ways for her to pick on him. It was just in her nature to knock people down a few pegs, so if he thought it was personal, he was horribley mistaken. Honestly, why would she spend so much time and energy thinking about him?

Oh, well...now she remembered, as he leaned over to kiss her. Her eyes shut for the short duration of the kiss, pulling back to once again suck in her lower lip. "Does that help you think?" She said with a smirk, her fingers sliding between his fingers now. Fuck it, it felt good to hold his hand, and it felt good to be there, in the middle of the Quidditch feild, on a blanket, with him. God, why hiiiim? Cecilia was never going to talk to her again if she found out that she had continued to see him, and Evan-...well, she wasn't sure. As long as Ludo was smart enough to just keep his mouth shut and not start anything with her brother, Evan wouldn't really care, but...why was she thinking that far ahead?

Augh, stupid fucking Hufflepuff boy, being all charming with his stargazing, and being a really, really good snog...

"It probably helps," he said in a very serious tone, letting his fingers wrap carefully up around her hand. Ludo rubbed his thumb against the soft bit of skin just between her thumb and index finger, looking at her eyes carefully. They were so gorgeous; he didn't care how nasty or snarky she was towards him, as long as he could look at her eyes. He leaned in to kiss her again, now lying on his side again. His free hand moved up to her head, the fingers burying themselves into her hair.

He wanted to just lie there all night and snog her...and they could probably watch the sky at some point, too. That would be okay.
