Delilah didn’t think she would cash in her winnings so quickly as she quite liked having a open ended ‘I owe you’ to hang over Henry’s head, but there was no way that she was going to this party alone. And even after the glare she got from her twin she was glad that she had forced Henry out. With all the families and couples and the little fact that Charlie was going to propose at some point, she needed the distraction.

She had returned to the table where she had momentarily abandoned her date with drinks for the two of them. Delilah had lost track of her brother exactly fourteen minutes ago, and she couldn’t seem to not feel jittery. It wasn’t like she was asking someone to marry her. Or you know, even on a real date. It wasn’t like this was really going to change anything.

“It’s too hot to have a party in a park.” She whinged sitting down in the chair directly beside Henry. “Do you think anyone would notice if we left? They already served cake. Wait no. We can’t leave. Damn. Stupid Charlie.” Delilah rambled before handing Henry his drink. She should go find Nora. Talking to Nora would help, as she already knew what was going on. Except one, she already whined to Nora about everything when they went out for drinks and two, she couldn’t be bothered to actually go find her. Not when she had someone sitting right next to her that she could talk to.

Except, that would involve breaking her promise not to tell anyone twice, and breaking promises she made to Charlie (real promises, that meant something, not ‘I won’t eat your last piece of cake’ promises) always made her feel a bit itchy. Delilah let out a small noise of frustration before sinking down in her chair. She should have brought someone she could go snog behind a tree or something. That would make her feel better. Well. She stole a glance over to Henry before quickly squashing the thought from her head. Thoughts like those are what got her painted as a tramp in the Tattler.

“I’m thinking too much, make it stop.”
