Henry stared at Delilah with complete confusion. Eyebrows high, eyes wide. He’d seen her in many states before, but this was a new one, and he could hardly believe it. It must have something to do with the party, but Henry couldn’t see what the problem was. Charlie was notorious for throwing events; maybe Delilah was concerned that this rather laid back evening was going to turn into something ridiculous? She thrived on ridiculous.
“I think you need a drink,” he said, continuing to eye her carefully as he handed her a drink across the table.
He had not been at all eager to come out to one of Charlie Spinnet’s parties, but Delilah had fairly won their bet, and it was proving not to be a dreadful night. It wasn’t hard to manage, really, as all Henry needed was a drink in his hand and his child in the arms of someone that wasn’t him, but regardless---he’d almost be able to enjoy himself if it wasn’t for the fact that it was indeed Charlie that was hosting. The two men had always butted heads, and it was all because of the twittering blonde that had invited him this evening.
“Drink, now,” Henry instructed, not hesitating to pick up his own glass as it magically filled up to the brim once again. “Before your head falls off.”
