L Μ W ([info]hark) wrote in [info]valesco,
"Yes you of all people!" she snapped, her hands retracting to her sides. Not wanting to ball them into fists, Larkin quickly crossed her arms over her shoulders. What exactly was Seth thinking? Had he forgotten their numerous broom closet rendezvous all those years ago?

"It means I'm not sure I feel like talking about my most recent sexcapade with a former one!" Her face had turned hot, not out of embarrassment, but out of anger. It really wasn't--- everything she uttered, every move she made here, it would make it back to Michal, wouldn't it?

"And of course you're bloody best friends, not like that makes anything awkward at all!" Best bloody mates, practically attached at the hip for how many years now? A cool wind rustled up behind her, and Larkin then remembered where she was; in some halloween-themed maze with who knew what lurking at every corner and here she was, being forced to talk about something she had properly avoided for many months. What had she been thinking coming home? Acting as if nothing had happened?

Larkin dug her face into her hands as Seth revved up, seething on and on about her poor judgement and mistakes. She found it quite absurd that Seth though Michal was capable of loving anything that lived and breathed, and frankly hypocritical that he thought he had the right to be nosing his way into a delicate extraction situation. Apparently it hadn't occurred to Seth Wadcock that perhaps Larkin was ignoring Michal in an effort to not give him false hope, to at least help in the smallest of ways to-- Seth's final words shot Larkin out of her own thoughts, and quickly she jumped to react.

"He should have!" Larkin let out suddenly, her hands falling from her face to look at Seth fiercely. "He had no right doing what he did! I was perfectly happy in Jordan, certainly didn't need him mucking everything up with his ridiculous feelings for m---" She caught herself, eyes widening slightly. No, she couldn't admit to Seth that she recognized Michal's affection for her, that would tear apart so much more that had already been torn---

Pulling out her wand, Larkin sprung to close the distance between the two of them. "Don't you mention a word of me to him, Seth." She pressed her wand dangerously close enough in a way that could very well be perceived as a threatening matter. "It's better if he doesn't, to help him get over.... do you understand me!"
