Seth hadn't realized how hungry he was until he saw all the food on the table. He leaned over giving Savannah a kiss in greeting before grabbing a bread roll. "Very hungry, this might just be enough." he joked feebly, he stomach grumbling on cue for added effect. He had already started dishing up some pasta when she asked if everything was alright.
"Yea," he had hoped that it wasn't that obvious that was something wrong. "No. Its just--" Seth sighed putting down his plate and running a hand through his hair. He had no idea how to go about this conversation. He didn't want a fight, but he could see how it would turn into one easily if he didn't choose his words right.
"This thing with the Tattler, I would have told you if I wasn't planning to surprise you with the proposal. And I knew it was going to be a thing, with all the history we have with the stupid magazine and how much you hate it. I know that, but they had a story on Henry that could have ruined his career. I couldn't stand by and do nothing when I had potential leverage to help him. Not after everything he's done for me. Not when it was as simple as letting them tell the world we we're engaged, or that you said no, stories they would have reported on anyways."
He looked away from wishing he had something to do with his hands. Looking back to his fiance he swallowed. "I'm sorry that we are tangled up in this, that I used something special in such a way. But I don't regret it, Henry would have done the same for me."
