Now it was her turn to shut her eyes, able to take in his scent as he leaned so close to her. Her hands balled into tighter fists as she tried to ignore the stinging behind her eyes, hating that even though she wanted to hit him, and even after everything, she couldn't help but want to just forgive him and take him back. But he had cheated on her, and he was doing drugs and she couldn't be stupid anymore. She leaned forward and pressed her forehead against his own, her hands relaxing at her sides as she opened her eyes and looked into his own, her eyes getting a little watery as she lifted her hands to place them on either side of his face, her fingers shaking a little bit. But she couldn't cry. She didn't want him to see her cry, because...fucking hell, she was hurting more than he knew. "I obviously don't do enough."
She pushed his arm to the side and tried to move past him, not able to keep standing there with him giving her that look, saying what he was saying, making her want to forgive him. "Just go, Darren..." She tried not to make it sound like she was pleading that he would go away and give her some space. How could he be that stupid? How could he not think this would matter?
