She couldn't help but gasp as he pressed her back against the wall, those long lashes pressing together tightly as he kissed her, trying her best not to return it. She just stood there, her hands once again balling up at her sides, not throwing them around his neck like she normally did when he kissed her. It was almost instinct to do that even now, but then she thought about Lydia, and that made it easier to resist him. But this wad Darren, so that was never really easy. Expecually for Devon, who had been infatuated with him ever since thier first meeting.
When he pulled away, she blinked her eyes open, feeling moisture stuck to her eyelashes as she stared at the wall on the opposite side of the room. The feeling of his warm breath on her cheek gave her goosebumps, and before she could say anything else, he was gone. Which was what she wanted, right? Her bottom lip quivered before she bit it, leaning her head against the wall as she slid down, her knees bending up to press against her chest before she rested her forehead between them, her hands slipping through her hair to grip at those silky red locks. Suddenly she felt numb, and she hadn't even noticed that a tear had finally started to slide down her cheek when she heard the front door close behind him.
