Phoebe pouted greatly at Klio. Of course she'd known about her friend's crush on Smeth, she'd been trying to hook them up for years, but--it really just wasn't nice. Did the Gryffindors have to show their boyfriends or whatever? Emmeline and Juliet's boyfriends were mean, did they not know--
"You're not desperate," Phoebe said with a nod, absentmindedly wiping her fingers on the edge of her pillow case. "You're not. People are just---stupid. Including boys. Boys are stupid and...and we don't need them."
She slid off her bed and went and bounced onto Klio's, avoiding knocking her knees into her friends' head.
"We don't need boys. We need to be awesome, and boys don't make things awesome, they make things miserable and dumb. No boys."
