Ever since the prospect of losing those she cared about had become very real and very tangible, Narcissa was constantly on edge. She had always doted on Rabsatan an unusually large amount, and with nothing to do but worrying these days, that amount had increased tenfold. The thought that perhaps she was doting a bit too much never occurred to her, and if someone were to ever mention it, she would dismiss it -- It was just the right amount of doting, as far as she was concerned. How would they know she cared, if she didn't shower them with it at every opportunity?
Narcissa had been listening to the WWN -- It was all she seemed to do, lately -- when a house elf knocked on her door and told her that Rabastan had arrived. A wave of relief washed over her to hear that he was at the Manor, safe and untouched, and was glad that she had one less person to worry about for a while. After giving the elf instructions to bring tea to the parlour, she left the room to greet him.
She couldn't help but think how good it was to see him when she entered the room, and the very last piece of anxiety left her, as if she had to see him with her very eyes to be certain he was all right. With a small, but very genuine, smile, Narcissa crossed the room briskly and gave the young man a peck on the cheek. "It's good to see you, too." She sat in a seat close to his and motioned for him to join her. "I haven't seen you in far too long, Rabastan. We mustn't allow this to happen again. Now, you must tell me how you have been these days."
