"We take these very seriously," said the official, making Madeleine scoff, "and with the rising rate of muggleborns dismissing the new rules and regulations, it has become standard to make home-visits."
"What can he do, to prove things?" Madeleine asked, but was once again ignored as the official approached, pulling out rolls of paper--parchment. He handed them to Nicholas, and her hand involuntarily twitched to grab a hold of it.
"Your appointment is next Wednesday at 8:00 am, if you do not show the proper documentation, your rights will officially be revoked down to muggleborn status. Have a good day."
He disappeared with the loudest crack Madeleine had ever heard, and she covered her ears. The sound had apparently resonated through the house and stirred the kids awake. Madeleine frowned and tugged on her husband's arm to follow her to the nursery.
"What are we going to do? What is the 'muggleborn'?" she asked, reaching into the crib to pick up Natalia---Mina was squirming now, but Nicky was always such a sound sleeper, and he remained in a blissfully unaware nap.
