WHO: Ellie Bell, Davy Gudgeon and Ian Bell
WHAT: Afternoon delight.
WHERE: Bell house
WHEN: Summer '78

"I'm glad I can finally bring a boy over without him drooling more over my house than me." Ellie smirked back at Davy as she led him by the hand back out into the pool area. She'd been laying out there for a while now, reading in one of the reclining chairs under an umbrella--she hadn't actually been in the pool once since she'd started Easter break, not with the horror stories Ian had been feeding her about how it shot gyesers of water out at everyone that got near it. Nooo thank you, she didn't care how many of his brilliant ex-girlfriends had come over and fixed it, she wasn't going to do it.

She settled down in the chair she'd been in before, removing the book and putting it on the table. "I'll warn you right now, Ian's been checking in on me a lot, being all super overprotective and stuff, so if he does come around, you know... don't say I never said anything." It was so bloody annoying, that her brother didn't think she could take care of herself. She was a legal witch now, after all, and that definitely gave her the right to stay at her parents home by herself for a week without Ian freaking out and worrying about it. "He's never going to get over the fact that I'm an adult now."

Davy sat on the side of her chair by her knees. He reached over her legs to prop himself up and grinned down at her, grabbing her other hand with his free one and sliding their fingers together. Ellie was very pretty looking and just the kind of girl he liked (not redheaded or resembling anyone he'd previously dated) and she knew about a lot of the same things he did. She just made sense and he couldn't believe he'd not thought of her before. Granted he had been a little busy with his headaches and stuff but they were less frequent now.

Her house was nice and he did like the pool (he had fond memories of that one by Stu's house) but he was wondering if he should have brought swim trunks or something. Whatever, he didn't know she had a pool so he wasn't going to worry about it at all. The Ian thing was just a little scary, because well if Vinny was scary when Gladys was threatened, Davy really didn't want to be on the receiving end of that kind of attention. But he liked Ellie enough to risk it though, so he just grinned down at her and leaned forward. "Well, we'll just have to make sure we don't get caught then?"

"Exactly," she said, a glint in her eye. However, she was more relieved than anything, because.. well, most boys would run off at that. Her brother wasn't exactly a pansy, and he'd punched guys' lights out before that had so much as looked at her the wrong way while they were both still in Hogwarts together. But Davy wasn't other boys, he had already proved that to her plenty, and that was perfect for her. With the kind of family she had, she needed that 'not just another boy', and she assumed that with Vinny's generally newfound star status, it happened to be the same sort of situation for him.

She squeezed his hand a little, at the same time leaning up to meet him halfway in a kiss and surprised herself at the little jump her heart gave. It was weird that it had taken her six years to really notice him, because it wasn't just the whole Quidditch-star-family-member thing that even attracted her to him, that much was evident now. He was cute, funny, easy to talk to... but then again, she supposed with Phoebe Smethwyck as a best friend, and spending a lot of her time generally being a girl and pining after the dreamboats like Sirius Black and James Potter for most of her Hogwarts career, it was a little hard to push the guys she was actually compatible with into the background.

Davy was quick to pick up where they'd left off, completely content with sliding his hand over to her waist and wiggling his hand under her shirt. Okay, maybe he'd been thinking about snogging her again just a little too much because he was incredibly happy just to be
kissing her again. But having dreams about Ellie beat out omen ones about death, destruction and vague futures. He deepened the kiss slowly, nearly grinning and that was kind of making the kiss sloppy, but Davy really didn't care, because it was kissing and he was giddy and for April it was really nice out. It was a good day.

He kissed her for a little while before pulling back and kissing her neck. He rearranged himself so he was more onto the chair and leaned her back against the reclining part. Oh, he really liked these kinds of chairs. Davy wiggled his knee between hers and Merlin, this was much better than the potions section because his neck wasn't bent so far down and he could feel more of her body anyway.

"I missed you," Davy blurted out before ducking his head and starting to suck on her neck. And that wasn't a lie at all because he had been thinking about her a lot and not just because she was snogging him either. "Only been a few days but yeah." Okay kind of mushy but his brain really wasn't working properly at all.

"I missed--you too," she muttered, finding it hard to speak while she was biting her lip to stop from moaning a little at the feel of the work he was doing on her neck. Oh, Ian would definitely not approve of this, she thought wickedly. And yet, her mind was the furthest it'd ever been from using a boy just to get on her brother's nerves. She really liked snogging Davy, and it wasn't just because he was really good at it; for the first time, she really felt something other than indifference about the person she was snogging.

Untangling her fingers from his, she reached up behind him, returning the favor and pushing her hands up under his shirt, allowing them free reign to run across the bare skin of his back. Just lightly, she twisted her fingertips so that they were creating trails as she moved her hands.

Davy arched his back, pushing his hips down onto hers and groaning just a little at the feel of her fingers against his back. God Merlin Jesus on a Cracker it felt so good because it was just enough to drive him wild but not enough to hurt. He slid his hand up a little further, feeling a little braver and egged on by her actions, and covered her breast. He really hadn't ever gotten much farther with a girl and he actually wasn't going to think about that right now. Her hands on his skin was turning his mind into mush and he wasn't quite sure what to do with it now that his hand was there. All his mind was doing was screaming 'ohmygodherbreast' and that really wasn't helpful at all.

He groaned again and worked his mouth back up to hers, kissing her deeply. There was a lot going on and Davy was pretty sure his brain was about to implode. It was hard to try and coordinate his hands and his tongue and playing footsie but he thought he might have it down as long as she didn't confuse him with something new. Davy awkwardly massaged her breast, idly wondering exactly what they looked like and tried not to groan at the mental image that gave him.

Elspeth was probably going to kill him, Ian knew, but it was driving him insane to sit at home when he knew she was there alone. What if the paparazzi started harassing her (although the rational part of his mind said they couldn't, not with all the spells around that house), or she hurt herself, or something caught on fire, or.. okay, he was being overprotective, even he would admit it, but it made him feel loads better to be with her, even if she was halfway across the house and not talking to him out of annoyance. He just couldn't sit in front of his telly watching movies, he'd rather be sitting in front of his parents' telly watching movies while his sister was somewhere in the same house.

So it had only been an hour and a half since he'd last been there (to see if she wanted help making lunch, to which he'd gotten a wooden spoon thrown in the general vicinity of his head), but he swore, he wasn't going to try to help her out or anything this time, he was just going to find her, say hello, and sit down and read a magazine or something. Seeing the door to the back yard open, Ian shoved his hands in his pockets and headed outside--baaaaaad decision.

"What the--! Who are--? What the hell do you think you're doing!?"

Davy had just decided to push up her shirt a little more and his other hand to the outside of her thigh, sliding it up just under the hem of her shorts. He was contemplating whether it was warm enough to take his shirt off when the worst imaginable thing to happen; did. Well not worst imaginable because Davy had seen some pretty bad things in his dreams but Ian showing up while he was groping Ellie? Very bad news.

It took a moment for his brain to realise that he was very very fucked and definitely not in the good kind of way. Davy pulled his hands out and sat up but didn't move any further, looking at Ellie with open shocked eyes and mouthing, 'Oh shit!' at her, before glancing over his shoulder at Ian with a sheepish look. Time to meet his maker and he was still somewhat of a virgin and he was going to die. "Uh, hi Ian."

Ian was amazed that he could even get words out with how completely shocked he was (not that she hadn't pulled shit like this before, but still, he had his hand up her shirt), but his anger over the situation was so great that a million curses and other nasty things were brimming on the tip of his tongue. And then the boy turned around and then he was even more shocked, but even more angry because--because--Vinny's bloody cousin, he should know so much better! Had Vinny taught him nothing? Like how you don't go over to the house of a sister of a bloody pro Quidditch player and just make out with them when said brother could walk in at any time?

"Elspeth Kennedy Bell, get in the house right now," he demanded, not taking his eyes off Davy.

Ellie thought for a moment about protesting, because he was treating her like he was her father, like some bad little child, but when she saw the way he was looking at Davy, well... she thought better of it. He'd actually probably be better off if she wasn't there, because all her disobedience ever did was make Ian angrier and he definitely didn't need any help in that department. She slipped out of the chair on the other side, determined to give Ian some choice words about how he was treating her later, and walked inside, but only to the door. Ellie pushed herself up against the side of the wall where she could still see if she peered over and bit her lip... errgh, he was in for it for sure, she really hoped she didn't have to hex her brother off him.

"So... can I ask what you thought you were doing, groping my sister, in my parents' back yard, in front of all the eyes of the world, where I could walk in any time and see?" Ian asked, having to clench his fist at his side to stop from lashing out and knocking out a few teeth. Although he was quite sure Vinny wouldn't mind, not after how stupid he'd been.

Davy stood and watched as Ellie left him alone with a very, very angry Ian Bell. Okay, maybe this was his worst nightmare. The only thing worse would be if Ian had either a bat in his hand or his wand. Davy rubbed his elbow and tried to meet Ian's eyes. So much for Gryffindor courage.

"Defying death," he muttered. How was he supposed to answer that? 'I'm sorry Ian, your sister is hot and I want in her knickers?' Right, that would earn him a month's stay at St. Mungo's in the Hardly Curable Accidents ward. Or worse. "I uh, well I figured you had those wards over your place so people can't see in and your parents were gone and um, she warned me you'd be over but I didn't think you'd be over so fast and I think I'mgonnagonow," Davy pointed at the door and tried to scoot around Ian, staying out of his reach and ohfuckinggodhewasgoingtodie.

Yes, yes he was, Ian thought as he stepped in the way of Davy leaving. He gabbed the boy's collar with one hand, and pulled upwards to make sure he was looking him straight in the eyes. "I should hex you into next week for what I just caught you doing," he hissed, because he knew better, he knew Ellie was listening and he didn't care to let her hear him threatening her boyfriend--or whatever he was. He sure hoped he was at least her boyfriend with the courage he'd had as far as where he was letting his hands roam. "You're lucky me dad's not here or he would, and he wouldn't care whose friend's cousin you are. What my sister does in her free time is none of my business, but it is my business when some stupid prat gets up the gall to do it right under me, and in public where a million fucking paparazzi cockroaches can see it."

That's probably what he was the most angry about, he decided, that they were ripe for a snapshot that could lead to a very very bad and unflattering headline in some of those gossip rags and no matter how much Ellie liked them, he knew from experience that she would not want to be in one. This probably was half her stupidity, but he would deal with her later. "What is it? Don't you have enough popularity basking on the bright fringes of Vinny's spotlight without pulling my sister into your scheme to get your name out there? You've got to have a motive, you know the media leeches off this kind of stuff."

"No," Davy managed to grind out, his fists clenching and trying very hard not to shove Ian away. He knew he was in the wrong and he knew that Ian or his father would make good on that threat about a hex, but there was only so much taunting he could take. He hated the paparazzi but he'd assumed that their yard had been covered in wards like their's had but still his reasons weren't because of that. "I don't bask!" he retorted.

Davy wasn't that much of a prick and how could Ian think that of him? "I like her, okay?" he flushed, embarrassed. He hadn't even told her that and now here he was confessing it to Ian's face. "Only reason I'm here." That was definitely the truth.

When Ian let go of him, he didn't just let go--he put a shove into it, making sure to push Davy back, just to make sure he understood that he could beat him up if he really wanted to. That he was stopping himself before he actually did it, because he had been about to, before the kid said that last. He had to know that was what saved him; but then again, it was the only smart thing he'd said, so at least he had to realize that much.

"Get the hell out of here," Ian said harshly, turning his back to him and starting inside the house. Ellie, seeing him coming, scurried quietly further inside the house, for her room... despite the fact that a second ago she had been standing there with her heart beating out of her chest--if she'd heard right, Davy said he liked her and--and she hadn't had any more time to think about it, because-- "And I'd better not catch you doing it again, or you're going to get a lot more than a warning, Gudgeon. I won't hesitate to kill you just because I'm friends with your cousin."

Davy stumbled back, tripping over the chair and falling on his arse. Fuckshitbugger! He scrambled to his feet and took off running to get to an apparation point (it was rude to apparate out of somewhere without permission and he didn't know what kind of wards they had up). Davy smirked to himself, clearly proud he was getting away with his without any scratches. Oh fuck he was good. He'd have to owl Ellie later.

"I'll tell Vinny you said hi!" Davy shouted over his shoulder just inside the property wards. He laughed and jumped over the wards, apparating before he even landed on the ground. He ended up in Vinny's kitchen, his cousins looking up from their lunches to see Davy grinning smugly, "What's for lunch?"
