Orpheus checked his reflection in the full length mirror before he left the room once more. He had changed clothes nearly ten times, but had finally settled on a white oxford and black corduroys. That way, no matter how his guests dressed, he was prepared for anything. Not too dressy, not too casual. If the evening went well, he could always unbutton – he was good to go.

He decided on a pair of black silk socks, which he put on as he leisurely went down the hall. The house elves had taken care of everything and he’d double checked that the beds were equipped with emerald silk sheets he had hand selected. Egyptian cotton on two of them, threads too many to count since the store couldn’t handle five orders of green silk sheets in two days. Of course, they'd had red but that just went to show how classless those sort of people could be. Honestly, he’d been mortified and hoped whomever slept in those two beds was too busy to realize.

He ruffled his hair one more time before taking a seat on one of the couches near the fireplace. Let them come, he was so ready.

Narcissa made her entrance, fashionably late, of course. She was dressed to impress, in a silk lavender blouse and short black skirt, her hair down in loose golden curls. Her makeup was perfect, as it should be - it took her nearly two hours. Perhaps Lucius would be there - Orpheus hadn't said. If he wasn't, than it was his loss. Narcissa could find plenty other boys to satisfy herself with.

She accepted a drink from a house-elf, and stood near a wall decorated with a huge gilded-framed painting. As she sipped, she casually checked out everyone that had come so far.

Orpheus saw Narcissa as soon as she came in. He refrained from going right over to her as it seemed a bit too forward to start off, and since it was his party, then it really wouldn’t be right for him to abandon the rest of his guests. He would have to wait until she had been in the room for more than ten seconds before he approached her. He didn’t need to seem desperate.

He watched her from across the room as he entertained more of his guests. He chatted with some fifth years and a fellow seventh year before he managed to make it to where she stood without making it look like he had intended to. He came up beside her, his hand on her elbow. “Narcissa, it’s lovely to see you. Thank you so much for coming.”

She looked perfect, even more perfect than she usually did. Then again, perhaps it was the fact that he was on his fourth heavy drink of the evening that she seemed to be glowing. It was a mighty good thing that he had already made sure to cut the alcohol content in the drinks Amycus brought. His friends would be able to drink twice as much and think they were twice as drunk as they actually were. Sadly, he hadn’t thought of that until after he’d mixed his own drink, so he already had a bit of a buzz.

Narcissa instantly brightened when she saw her old friend. She had been wondering how long it would take before someone would come up and talk to her - she usually let people come up to her during the first hour of parties, instead of the other way around. As usual, he looked gorgeous. Very gorgeous.

She finished her drink and absently set the glass down on a nearby table, before picking up another one. She gave Orpheus a glowing smile. "Orpheus, it's good to see you too. It's looking like a wonderful party - I'm so glad that I came."

“I’m so glad you came as well,” Orpheus began, brushing his fingers through a few strands of her hair. She was so pretty. He grabbed a drink from the tray of a house elf passing the two of them. He didn’t even bother to look at it before he finished half in one large gulp. If he was going to get drunk, he might as well do it right. He glanced around the room again, noticing for the first time that there were people in the room he had not yet greeted.

“I’m sorry my dear, but I must go play host.” He gave her a quick kiss on the cheek. “I wish I could stay. If you like, we can always continue later this evening…” He really didn’t want to leave her, but the part of him that needed to please everyone was telling him that he absolutely had to go and greet those people.

Narcissa waved a casual hand. "Your guests certainly wouldn't want to think badly of you," she replied, her eyes lingering on his for a moment. She smiled and leaned back, finishing her drink. "I think I'll go and say hello to a few people as well."

Amycus was glad he'd accepted the invitation to come to the Slytherin Only New Years Eve party. Besides, Orpheus was a good friend of his, and it was his responsibility to supply some refreshments. And supply he did! He himself had already drunk far too much fire whisky for his own good (not that he would admit it). Seperating himself from a friend for just one moment, he turned around to see Narcissa Black sitting by herself. He walked over, swirling the liquid in his glass around. He gave her a small smile. "Looking as lovely as usual, Miss Black." He complimented her, crashing into the seat next to her and making himself comfortable.

Narcissa smiled widely and leaned over to give Amycus a welcome hug. She was by herself and looking great, if she did say so herself - she had spent the whole day getting ready. Lucius was no where to be seen, as usual. Honestly, what did a girl have to do to get noticed?

"Why, thank you, Amycus," Narcissa said warmly, taking yet another sip of her fifth, no... seventh drink. "You don't look so bad yourself."

Taken aback by her hug, Amycus took a moment to respond. "I do my best for the ladies, Narcissa." He said smoothly, finishing the rest of his shot glass, resolving not to drink any more or he'd start slurring. He let his eyes comb over her body a little more closely. She looked as though she'd gone to a lot of effort. For someone, maybe? "Expecting company?"

Narcissa sighed loudly. Hopefully she won't remember any of this tomorrow or she'd be quite embarrassed. "I was. Lucius, have you seen him anywhere?" she asked hopefully. "I haven't seen him in ages, and I was so hoping..." She trailed off petulantly, and finished her drink.

"No, I haven't had the pleasure. Maybe he had a more important engagement to attend." Amycus offered, his head throbbing slightly. He was going to have a shocking headh ache in the morning.

"Oh weeeellll," Narcissa sighed loudly, drawing the last word out. She squinted slightly at Amycus. No, he hasn't started to turn into twins. Good, that meant she hadn't drunk too much.

The more she gazed at him, the more appealing he seemed. Wow, he was actually quite good-looking.

Amycus noticed her gaze, and straightened up slightly. He shot a quick look around the room; however much he respected his friend Regulus, that still wasn't going to stop him from having a bit of celebration of his own. He couldn't see Regulus anywhere, so he relaxed slightly, and gave her a looking over of his own again. "I'm sure you'll find something else just as...agreeable...to fill in the time."

Narcissa's face relaxed in a grin. Hey, a girl had a right to have fun on New Year's, right? "I think I might have already found someone," she said suggestively, sliding closer to Amycus. Why hadn't she had fun with him sooner? She wondered briefly what kind of shag he'd be. She hoped he wasn't a virgin. But then again, virgins were fun to play with too. Oooh, bad Cissa.

Amycus wasn't usually one who wasted time with girls ; he had far better things to do with his time. But this was Narcissa Black, the forbidden fruit, and he wasn't about to back away. He quirked an eyebrow at her, brushing his black hair back from his face. "I'm glad to hear it..."

Narcissa inched even closer, her aquamarine eyes locked on Amycus's. "I feel like we haven't talked in a million years," she said, sounding sad. However, her smile was anything but.

"We really should catch up a little more often..." Amycus murmured in agreement, an extra painful head throb interrupting his nice thoughts for a moment. She was very, very close now, and he was daring enough to rest the palm of his hand on her upper thigh.

Narcissa arched her brows and looked down on her upper thigh, which her skirt had ridden up high enough to expose. "Why, Amycus, I never knew you to be so daring." She giggled and leaned over. "But I think I like it," she whispered in his ear.

Amycus wasn't one to go weak at the knees, but this girl was so gorgeous, he almost felt that way. Could of been the drink as well, of course. "There's more where that came from." He whispered back.

Narcissa drew back slightly, another smile on her face. "Why don't you show me?" she asked suggestively, almost pressing her face against the side of his neck. "My, but you smell nice."

"Maybe somewhere more...private?" Amycus suggested, nodding towards the direction of the Traver's back garden. Lots of dark corners out there.

"What a splendid idea," Narcissa said agreeably, and got to her feet, a bit unsteadily. She picked up another drink and took Amycus's hand and lead him outside. "Now what?" she asked, smirking as she downed another sip.

Now that they were out of eye sight of everyone else, Amycus pushed he against the side wall of the house, wearing a smirk of his own. "Whatever you want." He said, allowing himself a sip from her glass.

What Narcissa wanted to do was snog. Now. So without hesitation, she curled a hand around Amycus's neck and brought his face down to her's, where she met his lips with a deep kiss.

Amycus' heart did a small backflip, and he leaned heavily into her, pressing his lips firmly against hers and kissing her back. What a way to start the new year!

Narcissa arched against him, letting one leg ride up to wrap around Amycus. Screw waiting around for Lucius! She was having much more fun here, with Amycus.

He wasted no time holding her leg there with his right hand, slowly sliding his hand further up her smooth upper thigh, giving her bottom a squeeze.

Narcissa moaned lightly, arching up against Amycus. Merlin, this was hot. She kissed him hard again, enjoying the close feel of him against her.

Amycus broke their kiss for a moment, only to trail a few soft kisses down her neck, his hand moving away from her bottom and to the inside of her thigh, stroking her through her panties.

Surprisingly, he had her all hot and bothered - much more than she would have expected. There must've been something in that drink. Whatever it was, it had Narcissa moaning Amycus's name and gripping his back tightly as she threw her head back, enjoying the sensations he caused her.

There was nothing sexier than hearing a girl moan his name, Amycus decided. Smirking to himself, his ran his mouth down her neck, pausing above her collarbone and catching the skin of her neck with his teeth, marking her as his with satisfaction.

Narcissa let out a gasp of pleasure. She loved it when boys nibbled on her neck, and it felt so good when Amycus was doing it. She was reaching her peak, she could feel it, and let out one final moan as she clenched at his back.

"To think what I've been missing out on all these years..." Amycus whispered into her neck, looking very smug. He'd bitten into the forbidden fruit, literally.

Narcissa smirked back. Amycus was probably patting himself on the back mentally. Well, she wasn't too disappointed herself. And to think, she thought Amycus was some unexperienced little boy. Some other boys she knew could definitely use some lessons from him, especially in the hand department.

Amycus pulled away, mostly to get some air, but also for a peak at the red mark he'd given her neck. He pulled his hand out from underneath her skirt, and gave her a knowing look.

Narcissa breathlessly ran a hand through her hair, which was probably looking very frightful, and took a step back, rearranging her clothes to look more or less put together again. "Shall we go back, or shall we have a few more moments together?" she asked, casting him a suggestive gaze.

"I think it would be best not to be away from the group for too long." Amycus said wisely, looking disappointed nonetheless. "That doesn't mean we can't come outside later." He smirked.

Narcissa laughed. She could do with a few more drinks anyway. "That sounds like a plan," she said smugly. "At least this party wasn't a total waste of my time."

"Nor of mine." Amycus agreed, walking over to open the door for them. "Ladies first." He said smoothly, stepping aside to let her through.

Regulus hadn't intended on leaving Bellatrix' house that early, but he was finished with everything he had to do that day, and ended up getting dressed sooner that he'd thought. So, naturally, he was the first one arriving to Orpheus' place, through the floo network, which was an obvious mistake because of the damage it did to his smart outfit.

He stepped out from the fireplace and brushed himself off, smoothing the creases of his elegant black robes with his hand, then flattening his jet black hair with the other. Once he was done tiding himself, he moved over to where Orpheus was sitting, as if he'd just noticed him there, and nodded his head with a polite smile.

"Greetings Orpheus. Thank you for your invite."

Orpheus looked up when Regulus came through the floo, only to find himself vastly disappointed. He sloshed the contents of his wine glass once before setting his glass down on the table near him. The young man of course looked dashing as he always did and though Orpheus felt little jealousy as he was obviously better looking, he still resented the runt of the Black clan. However, Regulus was still a young man of good blood and hadn’t deserted his clan like two of the other Blacks. It went without saying that if he was ever to have any chance of wooing Narcissa Black he first had to make nice with her relatives. Not to mention, this was a friend of Amycus’, which made him at least someone Orpheus should play nicely with.

“Regulus,” he stood once the boy had finished brushing himself off, “so nice to see you again.” He shook the boy’s hand firmly before giving him a polite but not overly friendly quick huge of camaraderie. “Happy New Year to you. I hope the floo wasn’t too crowded.” Orpheus showed him into the other room where the bar was located. “Can I interest you in a cocktail or something to drink?”

"It wasn't too bad," Regulus replied smoothly as he followed the other boy to the next room, looking like he wasn't bothered with whatever Orpheus thought of him, as he didn't seem to be making any extra effort around him. Truthfully, Regulus had never given Orpheus any thought before, despite the fact that he was from a well respectable family, and a year older.

"Yea please, something strong." Regulus nodded, drawing a pack of cigarettes out of his pocket, "You don't mind if I smoke here, do you?"

And without really waiting for an answer, he put a cigarette between his lips and lit it up, inhaling deeply.

Orpheus stepped behind the bar and looked thoughtfully at the assortment of liquors there. “How do you feel about a Black Russian?” he called to the other boy. Without really waiting for a response, Orpheus began to mix the drink, smirking to himself about the irony of it all. He was all out of lemon juice or he would have made it a Black Magic and then it would have been really amusing.

Once he was finished with the concoction, he returned from behind the bar and handed the drink to Regulus. “Don’t mind at all if you smoke. As a matter of fact,” he continued, “can I bum a fag?”
