WHO: Lily Evans & Amycus Carrow
WHAT: Kidnappings ;[
WHERE: Sixth floor corridor
WHEN: 1:15 AM, Friday morning

Forbidden corridor: do not pass

Lily had possibly read that same sign, hung in front of the entrance to the sixth floor corridor, about a thousand times just that night. As she paced back and forth once more, she turned her eyes to her watch, hoping that focusing on something else would keep her from falling asleep.

No such luck. As she had just discovered the time to be not only ungodly late--1:15 AM, precisely--she also realized that she had forty-five more minutes of this monotonus work to do. And it wasn't as if she could just give up her extra rounds and call them stupid... James had done them without a complaint and the hell if she was going to look less authoritative than him.

Not that she had anything against James and looking authoritative and responsible. She just didn't think it would bode well to have him outdo her (which, admittedly, was becoming increasingly difficult these days). Sighing, she put a hand to her head and leaned against the stone wall for a moment. Maybe if she just rested for a second...

When Amycus had snuck out of his dorm an hour earlier, he'd realised that the same sickening feeling that had attacked his stomach just before his father had died was back again. He felt sickened because he knew what he was about to do was...something that he was not going to be proud of. But he had to do it. And there was no turning back now.

He'd been tailing Lily for a good half an hour. It had taken him awhile to actually find her, for one, but he was still thanking his lucky stars that she had Head Girl rounds tonight. Leaning his chest into the cold ground, he peered around the corridor. She was still pacing. Could she not just stop and sit down for a second? Amycus knew that if he was a Prefect he'd probably spend about 90% of his rounds in the Prefect's bathroom. Not Lily Evans, though.

Suddenly, she seemed to change.

She was sighing - Merlin, she looked attractive when she did that - and she was...leaning against the wall. Amycus slowly got to his knees, wincing when his shoe scraped across the ground. Hoping that she hadn't heard, he pounced to his feet.

Pulling his wand out of his back pocket, he leapt around the corridor and snarled,"Stupefy!" Quite loudly, but hopefully not loudly enough to alert any other Prefects that were unlucky enough to do their rounds at this hour.

Lily had thought she had heard a scuffing sort of sound somewhere around the corner, and blinked for a moment, and took her hand from her eyes to peer across the corridor. Nothing there.

It was probably just an animal or something. She didn't know, nor care at the moment, she was so tired... And if it was a student, it wasn't as if she had enough energy to go along chasing them off. Well, they'd gotten lucky, she thought, getting ready to return to her place on the wall. If she'd been even a little more awake, they would hav--

There wasn't even time to think in between the split seconds occupied by the enchantment and her being hit by it. Lily hadn't even had time to register what spell was being used before the flash of red brilliance hit her head on with enough force to throw the girl some few feet.

And then there was silence.

The sound of her knees buckling onto the concrete, followed by her side and her head, was enough to cause beads of sweat to break out on Amycus' forehead. What if he'd hurt her? What did it even matter if he'd hurt her - he didn't even want to begin to think what Bellatrix was going to do with her when he delivered her to the arranged meeting spot. He paused for just a second, making sure that no spotlight was going to suddenly hit him in the face, and that no-one was going to come running around the corner to confront him. When there was no other noise, Amycus figured it was safe to move on. In fact, it was probably safer to move on that to stay where he was.

Panting, like he'd run some sort of marathon, Amycus scuttled over to her, dropping to his knees and turning Lily over on her back. She had a lump on one side of her head, where she'd hit the stone floor, but there was no blood.

Breathing out slowly, Amycus wrapped his cloak around her before pulling out his wand again, flicking it upwards and watching her body rise up. He was shivering, all of the sudden, but he knew he had to keep moving. He flicked his wand again, and he began to run alongside her floating body, which he was pressing forward, faster, eager to get out of the castle and get out of the grounds. Amycus didn't even want to think of the repercussions if he was caught.
