"Thank you," she smiled, bowing her head toward him slightly. Mackenzie brought her eyes back up to his quickly, still feeling very warm. In a pleasant, but bothered way, if that was possible. Her fingers knotted within each other, effectively fighting off the urge to nervously play with her necklace.
Sebastian thought she looked great. Not alright, or good, or doing well, but great! The fact that people said phrases like that to each other all the time didn't fully sink in until a few seconds later, and Mackenzie scolded herself for jumping to conclusions so quickly. She really needed to control herself. How would people see her as eloquent and sophisticated when she just let her mind go off on the tiniest of things! Control and poise, if anything she hoped she could exemplify it now, at the most important of times!
Important because it was important that Sebastian didn't think of her as this floozy girl that showed up to parties to do inappropriate things! She valued his opinion! As... a... friend.
Oh, she was horrible at convincing herself that these feelings she felt about him were just purely due to intrigue because he was a Gryffindor and muggleborn, and not anything else. Taking a deep breath, Mackenzie sought to respond.
"Oh, no, but I am sure my mother does. She always plans things without telling me," Mackenzie waved her hand in a passing way, not wanting to make a big deal about it. By now, both Christopher and her had gotten use to this fact. There was just no hope controlling Lisette Loftus sometimes. "What about you?"
