To--Anyone at this point :D [26 Mar 2011|10:02am]
Gorsemoor Academy had the auspicious designation of being not only a preparatory academy for magical youngsters, but also a place that offered undergraduate programs for further wizarding education. That's what the brochure had said anyway. What it really meant to Archemedes was that he would have plenty of work during the summer (nearly a full course load of college level classes) so that no moment of his life could be called empty. Vacation was a terrible thing to him for it left his mind to wander and it always wandered back to very negative times.

Unfortunately, the academy still gave out breaks. Things like Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the current nightmare of Spring break. Archemedes paced back and forth in the small--but sufficient--living room of his professor's apartment, wishing that he had any papers left to grade. He even had all of his curriculum for the rest of the quarter planned out thanks to the winter holiday break. The cat that his mother sent him meowed plantively. "You're not any help, Pox, so you may as well shut up." Archemedes liked the cat, but had resented the fact that his mother sent her to calm his nerves, as if he was nothing more than some nervous little old cat lady now. Then again, maybe that was the case. Regardless, Pox now reminded him of that fact and so he always spoke to her gruffly. Fortunately, Pox didn't seem to mind.

When he couldn't handle the small confines of his apartment anymore, Archemedes stormed to the door and flung it open, startled to see someone already on the other side of it. His Auror sensibilities mocked him as soon as he heard his own girlish cry of surprise and maybe a little terror.

open to Tiernan [26 Mar 2011|11:47pm]
It was going to be a long night. It was late, and Rory was still at the office trying to figure out the ins and outs of a case. A man had been accused of aiding rebel wizards following Voldemort and hiding them, and it was Rory's job to find the evidence to back it up. He was going through a list of spells that the man had allegedly cast, and it was getting to be mind numbing. He'd had to cancel dinner with his boyfriend again, and he could tell that his boyfriend's patience was running thin.

Sitting back in his chair at the conference table he was at, he rubbed at the bridge of his nose and let out a loud sigh that turned into a huge yawn. He was exhausted, and all he wanted was to go home and crawl into bed for a while. But he couldn't leave yet, not until he found something solid to work with. He wasn't aware that Tiernan was even still there, he'd thought that the man had left hours ago so when he heard the office door open up and he glanced in the direction of the noise, he frowned a little bit. The last thing he wanted was a run in with Tiernan - especially tonight when he was all ready cranky.

Getting up, he decided to head to the breakroom to get himself a fresh cup of coffee and to maybe warm up the rest of his dinner since he was starting to get hungry. He was hoping to avoid his ex, and he was keeping himself busy by looking around in the fridge for his takeout container.
