When Canyon woke up the morning after Homecoming, he jumped up, his heart beating a mile a minute. He couldn't entirely remember everything that happened the night before and he was suddenly panicked as he recalled begging Issy not to break up with him. Did they break up? Shit. He grabbed for his briefs and tugged them on, hurrying out into the hall and down the stairs. For as much time as he spent at the Fontane house, he'd never run through it practically naked the way he was doing now.

"Issy? Israel? Where are you?" He called. His head was pounding but he was frantic and waking up alone like that didn't help. His stomach churned and he felt horrible but he just needed to see his boyfriend and figure out what had happened.

Issy had woken up earlier and taken a shower. He figured he'd let Canyon sleep in, knowing his boyfriend might not feel too well and that he probably needed the rest. So he'd headed downstairs with his laptop in tow and he made some breakfast. Currently he was sitting at the kitchen table, eating some toast and editing some photos. He had some music on low and was wearing a pair of tattered jeans, but that was it. Though Paysen had cut his hair somewhat recently, it was growing out pretty fast. He hadn't bothered to do anything with it so it had dried in a mess of curls.

When Canyon came tearing down the stairs calling his name, Issy furrowed his brow and got to his feet. He had no idea if something was wrong, if something had happened and Canyon was hurt or not so he started for the stairs just as Canyon was coming down them.

"Hey," he said, "What's up? You okay?"

He launched himself into Issy's arms, clinging to him frantically. It was nice to know that he wasn't being pushed away and that Issy was at least concerned with what was going on with him.

"I'm okay...I'm okay," he said quietly. "I feel really fucking sick but I'm okay," he murmured, burying his face in Issy's neck. "I didn't know where you were. I got scared." He bit his lower lip, willing himself not to cry. It had been a kind of traumatic past 18 hours for him.

Israel blinked and managed to catch Canyon without tipping over, and he held onto him tightly. He turned his head and kissed at his boyfriend's temple as he caught his balance.

"Why did you get scared?" he asked, rubbing Canyon's back a little.

Canyon must have been really freaked because he was standing in his underwear. It was a good thing that Issy's Mom wasn't home or his boyfriend would have been mortified.

Issy hated that he felt guilty about things like this. He hated that he had to worry and he hated that when he did, this sort of thing happened. When Canyon came into the kitchen after him, he turned and watched his boyfriend sit down and hide his face in his hands, and that just about killed him. He went over to Canyon then and knelt down, letting his hands rest at Canyon's hips. "You scare me sometimes," he said softly. "What if something happens to you?"

"Nothing is going to happen to me," Canyon replied, keeping his face covered. He felt really embarassed and ticked off at himself for making Israel upset with him. "They said I have to stay at 120 to stay out of the hospital and I am 121 right now so there is nothing to worry about." That stupid fucking pound he'd gained last week. "Nothing is going to happen," he repeated, trying really hard not to cry.

Canyon snapping at him was exactly what Israel had always been afraid of if he pushed the issue, but he would be a terrible boyfriend if he didn't let Canyon know his concerns. When Canyon stood up to leave the kitchen, Issy got to his feet and went after him, gently grabbing Canyon by the arms to pull him back against him. He closed his eyes and pressed his face against the back of his boyfriend's neck, his throat feeling thick as tears welled up in his eyes. "Don't be mad at me," he said softly. "Please..."

All of this was making Issy feel sick inside and he didn't know what to do to fix it. "You want me to ignore it, pretend like nothing is wrong when it is. And I want you to realize something is wrong. We've never fought before. And right now you're so angry with me, I can tell." It hurt, just the way Canyon was looking at him. Issy just kept a hold of him for a few long moments, not wanting to let go. It was a little bit scary just how much he really loved Canyon, but he knew he couldn't ever let go of him. He wasn't sure how he'd function if they weren't together. After a moment, he figured he should say something to break the silence because the longer they were quiet the more tension there was in the air. "You look really cute in your underwear," he said softly. "You're lucky my Mom wasn't home this morning," he smiled a little.

I just needed to see you," he whispered, letting a hand slide around to rub at Issy's lower back. Issy kissed him back softly, letting one of his hands come up to gently cup Canyon's face before he let it drop so that Canyon could take a hold of it. He laced their fingers together and followed him to the stairs, too drained to fight anymore and a little shaken up about it. The idea of not being with Canyon anymore was devastating to him, and he had a feeling that it had been very close to happening.

	Issy stepped out of his jeans once Canyon had them undone and he wrapped his arms around his boyfriend tightly before he dipped his head down to kiss him softly on the jaw.
