Xavier had missed his brother while Cepheus was hiding away from all the people who wanted to ask about him and James Potter. But Cepheus and James were back in school now and still together and Cepheus seemed happy, so Xavier was choosing to ignore the naked photo thing. He'd beat James up if Cepheus ever got his heart broken instead. "I'm glad you're back," he told his brother. "Girls keep coming up to me and talking about either how hot you and James are, or how romantic you are. It's annoying."

He ruffled his brother's hair, grinning at him. "And this means I don't have to visit Ana in the hospital wing with Caspar. Apparently she ate two whole cakes trying to gain weight for the musical and ended up making herself sick instead. Caspar can deal with her. I don't think I can."

Cepheus didn't like being back in school. It was kind of a bother, really. But, James was busy with Quidditch and he didn't want to be the girlfriend who sat in on practices. So here he was.

He laughed at Xavier and rolled his eyes. "We're both. Very hot and very romantic. That's what you can tell them next time." He arched a brow. "Two whole cakes? That sounds delicious. Mum can put away two cheesecakes."

Xavier made a face. "I know she can. I've seen her attempt it. Apparently Ana isn't as talented as Mum because she failed completely. Caspar said there was a lot of puke. I don't really want to think about it. I mean, if she really wanted to put on weight there are special bars and things for that. She's just making up excuses for gluttony. Just don't tell Brutus I said so."

He looked at Cepheus. "I'm not encouraging your fans, by the way. They're only bugging me and not Scorpius because Scorpius has his head up Albus's arse and they all think that's adorable too. What's wrong with me and Caspar? No one makes up names for me and Caspar. We could be called Cavier. I've thought about it."

	"Oh, right. She's seeing Brutus now." Cepheus wrinkled his nose at the thought. Brutus was kind of gross, even if Cepheus liked the Macnair boys. He snorted. Xavier laughed. "I'm not going to apologise for thinking of Cavier. People go around smashing everyone else's names together. Why shouldn't I do it too?" He thought he'd done well. It sounded much better than Cames or Jameus.

But Cepheus looked a bit serious now, so Xavier calmed himself. "What about him?" he asked. "I know you stayed with James pretty much the entire time you were gone. Is this about that?"

Xavier made a face. "Ugh. Don't remind me. It's bad enough those pictures of you were everywhere. And by the way, why weren't Caspar and I invited to the club? Just because Caspar and Scorpius used to date? Caspar's over him now." Xavier was ninety-eight percent sure.

He got to his feet. "Yeah, of course. We can go to the dorms. You're going to tell me what happened?"

"I'm not that crazy," Xavier said, shaking his head. "I'm just... a little bit obsessed. Whatever. It's fine. I got all the crazy out when I was making Caspar cheat on Scorpius with me, but it turns out Scorpius didn't deserve him anyway so I don't feel bad about it."

He gave Cepheus a slightly worried look. The silencing spell made this seem... more serious than Xavier had thought it would be. "What is it?" he asked. "Is everyone okay at home?"

	Cepheus sighed dramatically and laid back on the pillows in the bed. He shook his head and looked at Xavier for a moment, trying to figure out how he wanted to phrase what he was going to say. "No. He didn't tell us anything, really." Cepheus admitted, then sighed. "But, apparently Scorpius found out something months ago. That he didn't mention to me. Which really still bothers me, if I'm being honest."

He ran a hand through his hair. "So, when the pictures surfaced, mum was livid. And I found out that the same thing happened to her when she was our age. Her and Rider." He told him. "And that our grandfather had her betrothal with Draco called off and she was disowned."

"No. It's not... Nothing worked out right." Cepheus went out and sighed heavily. Talking about it was getting him upset all over again. He played with one of his curls for a moment, trying to calm down.

"Basically..." Cepheus chewed at his lip. "Because Mum was disowned, she literally had nowhere to go. So Lucius bought her and kept her as..." He teared up. "He raped her. A lot. And... He's mine and Scorpius's real father."

"He..." Xavier stared at Cepheus for a moment, then reached out and rubbed his back. "Fuck," he said. "No wonder they never talk about him. Except dad saying out much of a prick he was, and even then I don't think I've ever heard him mention Lucius around Mum."

He ran a hand through his hair. Some revelations deserved it getting messed up. "Just... fuck, Phe. Did you tell James all this stuff too?"

"Yes. It's why I stayed at his house." Cepheus told Xavier, feeling his shoulders begin to shake. He looked down at his lap for a moment, then took a deep breath to calm himself down. He couldn't get upset again.

"And it just added to the situation I was already in." He looked at Xavier. "The only good thing that came out of it is that Scorpi and I don't have to be heir anymore. Rory can do it."

"Have you told her yet?" Xavier asked. He pulled Cepheus close, hugging his brother tightly and squishing him for a second before letting him go. "She'll be thrilled. I think she's been secretly plotting on being the heir all along anyway."

He pulled a box of tissues out of his bedside table and handed them to Cepheus. "We could go tell her. That might cheer you up. If Scorpius didn't tell you when he first found out, why should you wait around for him to tell her?"

	"Mum asked me not to tell her." Cepheus told Xavier quietly, shaking his head. He took the tissues and wiped at his eyes with a quiet sigh, not sure how exactly he felt at that moment. "Well. I get that," Xavier said, after thinking about it for a moment. It was weird. He patted Cepheus on the back. "At least we're in the same place we've always been, right? Half-brothers."

He leaned back against his pillows, shaking his head. "Our family is so much more fucked up than I thought. I can't believe they kept this from you two. Me and Rory, yeah, I get that, but... I don't know."

He shrugged. "If you were Mum, would you really want to tell your kids about the time your husband's father raped you and how you got these two kids out of it, but don't worry Mummy still loves you? I'd never want to talk about it either."

"Does he?" Xavier wanted to see a portrait of Lucius Malfoy now, but he thought it would probably be best not to bring that up to Cepheus. He was probably still feeling somewhat sensitive about it. "That's bizarre. This whole thing is bizarre."

He sighed. "You're still twins, though. And she still likes you best. Maybe it would have been a little better for you if Mum was more open, but who knows. It wouldn't mean she liked him more than she did."

"I don't know if he hated you, Cepheus. I think he just resented you," Xavier said. He shook his head. "Maybe you're right. Maybe if she'd been honest this wouldn't have happened, but we can't do anything to change it now. I'm terrible at this. I know I'm pretty gay and all, but I'm not sure I'm gay enough."

He ruffled Cepheus's curly hair. "Maybe you and Scorpius can be closer now."
