Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Who: Troy Danvers and Ellie Daly
What: Lunch!
Where: Cafeteria
When: Monday, October 1, 2012 | Lunch
Rating: G?

Troy hated Mondays. Though to be perfectly fair he still hated being here. He found a few things to occupy him though, things that made him not hate Chicago all the time. There was a certain blonde that fell into that category.

After getting his lunch, Troy stood for a mound scanning the tables. He was looking for one of his friends to sit with. As his eyes landed on a familiar blonde his lips turned upward in a smile. He weaved in between tables and made his way over to Ellie's table.

"Is this chair taken?" Troy asked, offering her a friendly smile. He was hoping it was open and that she wasn't saving it for someone else.

Ellie had given serious thought to just hiding in the library during lunch. She could feel her cheeks burn just at the thought of her clumsiness from the other day and she could still hear the laughter that had followed. The library seemed a far safer place.

Hunger had won out, though, and she somehow managed to make it to her seat without incident. Emma was... Probably off flirting with Bryant Sawyer, she assumed, so she was on her own, but Ellie didn't mind that so much. At least one of them had a life, right?

When she noticed Troy standing there, Ellie looked up and smiled. "Oh, hey!" She shook her head at this question and gestured for him to go ahead, almost knocking over her milk in the process. Fortunately, she managed to catch it before it really spilled all over them both!

Troy for one was glad hunger won out. He for one thought he was pretty lucky for getting to spend lunch with Ellie. Besides, everyone probably didn't remember anymore anyway.

He couldn't help the bright smile as he sunk down into his chair. He may have something resembling a crush on the girl beside him, not that he's been brave enough to act on it. Besides, then he may actually have to like this place. Or worse, want to stay. A chuckle escaped his lips as she fumbled with the milk, luckily catching it. He certainly wasn't laughing at her. But her clumsiness was kind of cute. At least from where he was sitting.

"How was your weekend?" Troy asked. He couldn't help but feel lame for asking her that. He chastised himself as soon as the question left his lips. 'Really Troy. Couldn't think of anything better than that?'

Ellie was completely obvious to Troy's crush. After all, Emma was the twin boys had crushes on. She was fun and athletic and popular. Half the guys in school wanted to be on her arm. Ellie felt like she was just plain and boring by comparison.

"It was okay," she answered with a shrug, flashing him a slight smile. "What about yours? Did you do anything interesting?"

Interesting wasn't a word most people would use to describe Ellie's weekend. She'd put in a few hours volunteering at the animal shelter, she'd shelved books in her parents' shop, she'd finished a book she was reading for fun and done her homework. Not exactly wild and crazy fun!

Troy shrugged his shoulders. He wouldn't say his weekend had been interesting. He'd spent Friday and Saturday training at the gym. He served Sunday for recuperating and of course a little football. He was a little more sore today than yesterday but nothing he couldn't manage. Besides it was a good kind of pain and the bruise on his side was an ugly color which meant it was healing.

"Better than being in school," he answered, flashing her a grin. "I spent most of my time at the gym. So I don't know if I'd say interesting. And the rest I spent at a friends house watching some football."

He opened up his water and took a sip, settling in to his seat a little more when he was finished. Troy looked over at Ellie for a moment before blurting out what he'd been thinking.

"My friend let me borrow a few DVD's…I don't know if you maybe want to hang out and watch them one night?"

"Hey, some of us like school," Ellie protested. She wasn't exactly a social butterfly, but she did enjoy her classes and she liked most of her teachers. And she did have friends. Not as many as her sister, perhaps, but she had enough.

She knew liking school was kind of weird and she flushed slightly. Sure, El, just act like a complete dork in front if the cute boy who is eating with you.

Ellie helped herself to a French fry and popped it into her mouth, nodding her head as he continued talking. When he asked her about hanging out, her eyes widened slightly in surprise and she quickly nodded her head as she worked to swallow.

" That sounds great!" she said. "What will we be watching?"
