PB:
Abbie CornishPersonality: Rose Wilkes is an ambitious young woman who is extremely focused on the future she has planned for herself. This isn't to say she doesn't make time to socialize, because she certainly does. Rose struggles with many of the same things other teenage girls do; she just also happens to be serious about her future, too.
She has a snobbish streak and a quick temper, but she has luckily learned to mask both when it suits her needs. Rose has the capacity to be extremely manipulative and though it is rarely done with malice, the impression she projects to the world is very much the one she wants them to see. She's not a strong believer in showing her weaknesses to others. A friend can become a foe, after all, in the blink of an eye, especially at her current age and especially in her own social circles. She is very careful not to give anyone anything they could eventually use against her, preferring instead that everyone believe she is as perfect as she seems to be.
The truth is that Rose does have her weaknesses. She feels more deeply that she will willingly let show and she is deeply devoted to her family. Rose's father, especially, is very important to her and she has a good relationship with her mother and siblings as well.
There's a romantic streak in Rose, too. Like her mother, she loves Gone With the Wind to an extreme degree. She's read the novel multiple times, though it is not something she is likely to admit to anyone anytime soon.
Her focus on her academic and future success could likewise be seen as a weakness, too. Rose is not willing to let anything stand in her way of getting what she wants. There is literally nothing she wouldn't do to preserve the future she wants for herself and while she is not usually malicious, her claws will definitely come out if she thinks someone is going to take the things she sees as hers away from her.
Special Abilities: None
History: Rose was the second child born to a wealthy and well-connected couple and to say she was born with a silver spoon in her mouth would definitely be an understatement. Having an older brother who is nearly 3 years her senior and a younger sister who was born nearly four years after she was has never led to her suffering from the middle child syndrome - at least not in the way most would think. If anything, it only enhanced her natural sense of determination to always do and be her best.
Rose was a daddy's girl since the moment she was born. She loves her mother, of course, and it is she that Rose goes to for advice, but there has always been a special bond between him and Rose, perhaps made stronger by her interest in the work he did just as soon as she was old enough to understand it.
Growing up in one of the nicer parts of England with a trust fund she could never dream of exhausting has meant that Rose has gotten used to having the best of everything. There has never been anything she wanted that money could not buy and that has given her the sense that the world is very much hers for the taking. Anything she wants can be obtained, whether it is through charm or monetary means.
As she started school, Rose made he fair share of friends. She has never been one of those sweet, bubbly girls that everyone likes, but it's amazing how many people will flock to you when you have money and status. Rose, of course, has cultivated the friendships that will prove useful to her while having little patience for those who wouldn't. She is not typically mean about it; she merely does not go out of her way to socialize with those she does not care for.
School saw her becoming active in many extracurricular activities and clubs. She's very focused when it comes to what she wants to do for a living, but she also wants to do and try and learn all that she can in the meantime.
Going into publishing with her father is pretty much a given when Rose finishes her education. While her father resented knowing he would take over his own father's business, Rose relishes that future. She is fascinated by the work he does and can hardly wait until she is able to spend her days working with him side by side.
In the meantime, though, Rose is enjoying her time in school. She takes her responsibilities seriously, but she does take the time to enjoy herself. During holidays, she spends time at her father's office, learning more and more of the trade and she has enough friends and acquaintances to have an active social life when she is at school while still making time to excel in her studies.
Nepotism or not, Rose Wilkes is certain she has a very bright future ahead of her.

Journal entry:
This has been an incredibly busy year thus far. I suppose it makes sense that our courses would become more demanding with each year, but it is becoming increasingly difficult to balance a social life with my studies. It feels as though I have been living and breathing academics lately.
I think I'm going to take a break this evening and find something fun to do. You know what they say about all work and no play. Would anyone care to keep me company?
Third person:
Despite her vow to take the evening off and do something leisurely, Rose found herself in the library after her lessons let out for the day. In her defense, there were a few things due
tomorrow and there were some books she absolutely needed if she was going to get her work done.
Besides, there was something about the library that relaxed her. The scent and feel of the books. The absolute quiet that settled over her. She did some of her best thinking in here.
Rose gathered the books she needed before settling herself at a table. Moments later, she had her quill in her hand and parchment in front of her. Rather than starting on her work, though, she begin to draft a letter to her father. She hadn't written to him in a good fortnight, which was a lengthy time for her.
Dear Father...A soft smile spread over her lips as she wrote about her lessons and life at Hogwarts. She missed him a great deal, but somehow writing to him made him feel less far away.
