WHO narcissa black and cillian wilkes.
WHERE hufflepuff common room.
WHEN after this.

Narcissa sighed as she flipped her hair behind her shoulder. To be honest, she didn't really care about the charms homework. It was always just quite refreshing to see her friend Cillian and actually be able to talk to a Hufflepuff that wasn't incapable of being socially awkward. And maybe Cillian was a little anti-social, but not that stupid, happy, frou-frou kind that the other Hufflepuffs often were. It intrigued her, really.

Spitting out the password to the portrait, Cissa stepped into the common room, looking around expectantly for her friend. When she spotted him, she sighed and mused, "I thought you were supposed to be playing with your mum's wands or something."

Cillian raised his head slowly, letting his eyes travel up Narcissa's frame before meeting her own. A sly smile stole over his features and he closed the book he had been reading, putting it off to the side.

"My Ma's wands, right. I think she'd have a tiffy if she knew." He patted the seat next to him. "Come on, sit a bit."

"Probably would," she said with a shrug, casually walking over and standing in front of him. "For a little, I'm supposed to go to class or something." Not like it really mattered, anyway.

Narcissa took a seat next to him, letting her body sprawl out in a sitting position, her back barely hitting the back of the couch in her horrible posture.

"Let me guess, charms?" Cillian laughed softly, reaching over to grab his bag. He pushed through it a moment before coming up with her homework. "Best be careful with this. Second years aren't as scared of you as the first years. They don't know any better still."

"Yeah," she sighed. "Doesn't really matter, to be honest. Not like I'm going to use it ever." Narcissa knew she would end up just being some stupid housewife eventually, and while it sounded nice not to have to do anything, it kind of made her a little bit uncomfortable.

She took the book from him. "I'll show them how to respect me," Narcissa mused warningly.

"They might be useful," Cillian mused. He leaned back into the couch, resting his head on his hand as he watched her. It was interesting how things changed in five years.

When she grabbed his book, however, he frowned. "I hope you're not planning on tossing it at them."

She crossed her legs in her sprawled position, hands resting on her stomach, crossing them in a forever-moody gesture. "When?" she asked. "Once you get the basic gist, I don't really see the point."

"Considered it," she admitted. "But I'm not that bad." Narcissa turned her head to look at him, eyebrows raising.

"Five years from now when someone asks you to charm them," Cillian told her sarcastically.

He held out his hands, giving her a small grin. "Just checking. I might be in this house, but I do like my books to stay out of the air."

She rolled her eyes. "I have other charm," Narcissa informed him. "I don't think I'm in need of anything else." Quite true, she knew, especially if she was just going to be married off.

"My book," she corrected boredly.

"If you're sure." Cillian rested his head back on his hand. "It is your choice."

He shook his head at the book comment, propping his feet up on the table in front of them. "Isn't that book supposed to be in class now?"

"Not really, I'm afraid," she murmured, looking away for a moment.

Narcissa stared uninterestedly down at the book, letting it drop to the floor with a small crash. "Yeah, probably." A shrug.

Cillian laughed, softly, leaning over to pick up the book. "Good thing you're not Ravenclaw. They'd murder you for that." He handed her the book back. "I won't tell, I promise."

She shrugged. "I'd rather be a Ravenclaw than a Hufflepuff," Narcissa admitted quietly, taking the book and pushing it into the crack between the cushions beside her.

"Hufflepuff isn't so bad," Cillian said. He glanced around the room and frowned. "All right, maybe it isn't as good as it could be."

"Even the colors are horrible," she scoffed. "I mean, yellow and black? What are we, bumble bees?"

"That's a reason others think we're too stupid, I bet." Cillian nudged her shoulder. "Good thing we're here. Show them not all of us are loopy."

She rolled her eyes. "I'd rather not even be associated with the 'loopy' category." Narcissa crossed her arms moodily.

"Which is why we have to prove them wrong. You think I'm loopy?" Cillian scoffed. "If I were loopy, I'd be in Gryffindor."

"I can't tell loopy from loopy," she teased, a wry grin starting to form on her features. "But if you're any kind of loopy, it's a different kind than Hufflepoufs."

"I don't think you're the bad kind of loopy," she sighed. "Maybe the sick, sadistic type of loopy," she reasoned after a few moments silence, only to tease him. "But probably not the Hufflepuff type of loopy."

"The sick, sadistic type. Maeve would love that." Cillian grinned. "Well, anything's better than the Hufflepuff type of loopy."

She raised an eyebrow. "Why would Maeve love that?" Narcissa asked curiously.

"Honestly... I don't think she would. We'll have to see." Cillian shrugged, then stretched in his seat. "Would be fun to tell her."

Narcissa shrugged. "What would she say?" she asked curiously, stretching out next to him just like he was.
