James would never come out and say he's the type of person you either love or hate, because he generally hates those people, but it describes him pretty aptly. James is far too charming for his own good, far too good looking, and very full of himself. He's kind and considerate of others and he adores his grandmother and mother and, although he picks on his younger brother because it's fun, cares about his siblings a lot too. James would give you the shirt off his back without blinking an eye, but he'd also make a show of it. He likes being the center of attention and, maybe because he was always told how pretty he was and doted on as a child, has sort of come to expect that treatment from everyone. When someone doesn't like it, it bothers James. A lot. He does his absolute best to change their mind. James is dashing. A Disney prince come to life, which he assumes is why Albus is so grumpy about him sometimes. Albus is obsessed with all things Disney. James is fond of his clothes and enjoys playing dress up. He doesn't have the money for his dream wardrobe of designer suits yet, but James has a pretty good eye for vintage pieces and likes to go searching for nice things that he and his grandmother can salvage together. He doesn't ever spend a lot of time on his hair, but it always looks perfect anyway. James Sirius Potter is eighteen and attempting to make it as a professional athlete. He has the skill and dedication to be one, but the fact that he's a completely out gay man complicates things for some football clubs. His father found James's coming out a bit complicated too. Harry Potter is very good in his role as Chief Inspector at the police department, and a pretty decent father over all, but he keeps insisting that being gay is a phase that can be overcome. James definitely isn't going through a phase. He loves boys and they love him right back.

Growing up with a dad who wasn't all that supportive made James closer to his mother, especially since Ginny had been a professional footballer herself, briefly. James and his mates took lessons from her. Ginny wasn't much for cooking and cleaning and that sort of thing, but she could kick a ball around. James did learn to be domestic though. He spent lots of time with his grandmother growing up and is close to her as well. James takes pride in his cooking and baking and, although he's a teenage boy living away from home, rarely has takeaway or a microwave meal. He likes to cook for himself.

In school, James was always very popular. Even after he came out, girls and boys alike looked up to him and/or fancied him. James liked the attention a lot, no matter who it came from. He always let the girls down easily. James has only ever been in one serious relationship and it ended badly for him. He got invested too heavily too fast with his first real boyfriend and scared the other boy off. After getting dumped, James was a lot more careful about his feelings. He's stuck to flings ever since and has developed a bit of a reputation for scandal because of it. Which he enjoys using to his advantage. Some boys want a bit of scandal in their lives. James knows he'll settle down eventually, but why do it now, when he'd having so much fun?
