We'll Both Be Completely At Home in Midair
She's been practicing for weeks, and it's still new and challenging, but Clara really likes flying.

...Although she didn't quite judge the distance of that tree branch right. "Ouch!"

Janie can totally understand why someone would love flying, and she happily loops around in the air, dodging tree branches joyfully while she flies just not far from Clara. "Why not try th-Clara! Oh shi- shoot! Are you you alright?" Janie dives over to where Clara is, aiming to fly under her and catch the other girl should it be needed.

Did Blue Lanterns have any vulnerability? Some kind of protective aura? Great, she couldn't even remember at the moment. This was why Daddy always said you had to have a good idea of what your teammates could do.

"I'm okay! Was just surprised! Maybe shouldn't try to go as fast around actual things as in space!"

"Phew! Okay, that's good. You sure though?" Janie does the equivalent of a mid-air screech to a halt and squints while looking over Clara just to be sure. Okay, nothing too bad it seemed. "And yeah, unless you were trying the fast track program for dodge training, but there are better ways to do it," she finally smiled.

I'm sure. There's the little forcefield. And that's a good point; I probably could use a lot more fasttracking, but I'm happy to consult the experts there."

Good to know about small forcefields. "Good then, face full of bark isn't a fun way of flying. Trust me. But no use fasttracking if by the end of it you're in no shape to dodge. Wanna keep in the trees or move up above them?" She was good with either, though the trees provided fun loopdeloop opportunities.

"Deal," Janie smiled and flew up and waited by 'lying down' and staring up at the sky as she floated. "So other than a few ill-placed branches, how's the power thing been?"

"Doing okay. I mean, I can't practice a lot of the Standard Professional Green Things, but everyone on Odym says it's for the best I don't start doing the full space field work until I'm older anyway. So I guess that makes sense."

"Yeah, that's reasonable. Only thing that really worries me about space is travel. I mean...the landmarks aren't great and I'd imagine you'd get lost without the ring. You'd need like...a space map or something otherwise. And if you got lost, not like many people would just happen to fly by the part of the universe you're in. Are there like space highways?" Yes, not the aliens that were weird, it was whether there were space highways or not.

"Not like, paved space-highways, just sort of paths that everybody's agreed on and has spacemaps and tracking devices for. Earth's a little off the beaten path, which is funny considering what a ridonkulous number of lanterns we turn out."

"Well obviously not paved, what would they pave it on anyway," she laughed. "See you need to tell new space travellers that or they don't know there are paths to go on or where they are. Well, I mean, not you specifically or anything, but like the space governments. Have nice signs or something. Burger stop in 3 light years and all."

"Oh we're weird that way. I thought there was supposed to be only like 1 lantern for a whole sector or something? And we've got a whole bunch just for our planet."

"Maybe I should get Ganthet in touch with the people who print the UUA's pamphlets. And yeah, that's the weird thing. We're like... so much trouble for districting rules."

"Having the most comprehensive pamphlets around here isn't enough? Upping it to the galactic scale?" Teasing of course, Janie was impressed by those pamphlets and just how much they covered. Batman levels prepared. "Yeah, I can only imagine. Always wondered how come we get to break the district rules. Is there a rule about how many blues are allowed in the sector?"

"Well, if information on how to get places needs to get out there..." She smiles.

"We're the least populated Corps -- besides Orange -- so we're a lot less regulated."

"That's good to hear, then they won't be trying to take you away due to some formality of rules. Trying only of course."

"Nice, we've got an expert on the team! Your parents didn't write the textbook on teamwork but the pamphlet is the next closest thing. Expand the pamphlet or combine a few and we can pretty much call it a textbook."
