Bobby gave her a big smile. "And there's one of the beautiful ladies I was looking for. Feel up to a little friendly abduction for some fun?"

"I could distinctly live with a friendly abduction. What's the modus operandi?"

His smile grew.

"I was thinking that you, me and Ronnie take a drive upstate. Find someplace dark to park and watch the Leonid meteor shower. Interested?"

Miranda can see how this pattern fits, and she thinks it does Bobby credit. Plus, meteor picnic. "Most definitely. Let me grab some quick equipment."

Of course. He should have expected that. "Mir, this is for fun. Bring the equipment if you must, but I want you to promise me that you will take some time and just /watch/ the show. Deal?"

"I promise, Bobby. And you may find yourself grateful for my equipment, mind you," she adds with a smile.

She'll just grab a few nice, quick, portable things.

Bobby chuckled and kissed her cheek. "I get where you're going," he said and gave her a wink. "I'm going to go find Ronnie. Meet us in the garage in about ten?"

"We're taking Gwen, so if we're not there, feel free to toss your stuff in." With that he went to find his other favorite lady.

"Daddy, did you remember the stakes? How about the silver? Okay, do you have the holy water? Okay, just asking. Please don't get killed or captured. I do /not/ want to explain to Aunt Vernique why you aren't at the next Nevell Board Meeting again. It's getting harder to explain your absences." Veronica says into her cellphone.

Her father is somewhere in the Balkans with Greg Price and that Matt Walker guy, chasing down yet another lead on Dracula and he's too busy to even send a duplicate home to talk to her, so he's using the phone. It bothers Ronnie, deep down, that she rarely sees her dad anymore, unless it's her birthday or...wow. She only sees him on her birthday anymore.

"Okay, Daddy. Be safe. I love you." Ronnie says, hanging up the phone and sitting on her bed with a sigh. Dad was a pro and so were Walker and Price, but he worries that their little outfit will be in the same trouble the previous one was. The Nightstalkers were tough, but there were a lot more vampires than the three of them. Ronnie was afraid her father wouldn't be coming home one day.

Bobby will find her contemplating what to do with the rest of her day when he arrives.

Bobby eventually found Veronica. Sometimes she was hard to track down, but Bobby's beautiful lady radar had yet to fail him. He greeted her with a warm smile when he saw her.

"Hello Beautiful. Would you be up for some friendly abduction for some fun?"

Ronnie forces one of her runway smiles upon her face, because she knows that Bobby only wants to help and have fun. He doesn't need her family drama (such as it is).

"Yeah, that sounds like fun. Where are we headed?" she asks.

"I was thinking that you, me, and Miranda take a drive upstate to find a dark place to park and watch the Leonid meteor shower. I have some blankets and a picnic basket already packed." He held out a hand to her.

"Hmm...this idea sounds like fun." Ronnie says, hesitating only a moment before she takes Bobby's hand.

"I've only seen a meteor shower once. I hope this one is just as cool." she says, rising from the bed.

"Well then my beautiful lady, I hope this one doesn't disappoint," he said as he brought her hand up and kissed it. "Your chariot awaits, or would you like a few moments?"

"If I didn't know any better, Bobby, I'd think you were trying to butter me up." Ronnie says with a shy smile. Bobby made he stomach do flips, and he knew it. So he worked it for all it was worth, of course.

"I just need a minute to change and I'm ready to go." she says.

Bobby smiled and kissed her hand again before releasing it. "Miranda and I will be waiting in the garage." With that he left her to change and get ready.

When the ladies were ready, they got into the car and Bobby drove them out of the city and the few hours to central New York State. Whitney Point, NY had a nice big lake and Dorchester State Park. There was a nice open area next to the water where he could park. They could watch the meteor shower next to the water.

Once he parked, he spread the thick blanket out on Gwen's hood and placed the picnic basket up on the roof. He offered to help each of the ladies up onto the hood.

"Looks fantastic," Miranda says, looking around at the setting and carefully placing her telescope somewhere appropriate.

"It's really nice out here." Ronnie agrees, and takes the offered help to get onto the car's hood.

"It is," he agreed. "Mir, would you like some help setting up your equipment?"

"I think I got it, thanks. When we want closeups or data, we can check it out. I fully intend to live up to my promise to watch like a layperson too." Miranda grinned. "Pass me a drink?"

Ronnie passes Miranda a drink and keeps her eyes on the sky. She almost wanted to let her mind wander and experience everything that had happened in this spot over the centuries, to see how many times people had come this place to watch the meteor showers.

"I /have/ to see Miranda take the night off to believe it." she grins.

"She promised to watch them with us," Bobby said as he climbed up on Gwen's hood. He grabbed the basket and started pulling the containers out. "Anyone hungry? I packed sandwiches, snacks and I made sure to pack some chocolate."

Miranda sipped her drink. "I'll do it. Don't think I can't."

Miranda eyed the sandwiches. "Prooooteeeiiin," she said in her best 'zombie' voice.

"Pass me a sandwich, please. I'm not particular on what kind right now. Now that that shoot in Monaco is over, I have exactly two months before my next shoot, so I can indulge this month." Ronnie says.

She pulls herself a up a drink from the cooler and relaxes a little.

Bobby pulled a sandwich out of the basket and passed it to Ronnie. He grabbed another one and handed it to Miranda. Taking one for himself, he sat between the two girls and leaned back against the windshield.

"Now this is the life."

Miranda lays back. "It well may be," she concedes.

Ronnie lays back as well, enjoying her sandwich.

"It's pretty close, I agree." she says.

"I think it is," Bobby said. "Two very beautiful women, good food and a meteor shower. What more could a person want?"

"I can," he said. "Besides, I have two very beautiful women to distract me from the car. I do have priorities."
