MEDIA STATEMENT For Immediate Release
TO: Pete Ackerley (The Daily Prophet) , Rita Skeeter (Witch Weekly), Matt Kiely (WWN) and other media outlets FROM: Herbert McKay, publicist for Gideon Prewett DATE: 28th March CC: Hamish MacFarlan URGENCY: Medium
After an outstanding two years as a chaser for Pride of Portree, Gideon Prewett announced today that he will be taking a sabbatical from competitive Quidditch to spend more time with his family. Prewett and his wife Glenda Chittock welcomed their first child, Tristan, on August first of last year just as Prewett was beginning his first season as a starter. He is taking a break to focus on helping raise his son and wife. "I really appreciate how accommodating the team and staff have been, quidditch is and has been one of the biggest things in my life, but right now with the way life is going, I really think it's best to focus on my family. I'm proud of what I have achieved in my short time and while it will always be a passion for me, I can't ignore that Gleny and Tristan are and will always be first in my life."
Negotiations are still underway as to when Prewett will return to the active roster. There is no word yet whether the other Pride Prewett will follow his younger brother's footsteps. Prewett asks that the media community respect his family's privacy at this time. "Glenda will still keep her shifts at the WWN and I am looking into possibly volunteering as a coach for Q.U.A.I.L. and giving back to my community for all the continued support."
