The ring in his hand was silver, with small diamond chips around the band. Silver, because he thought that gold wouldn't go well with a Malfoy complexion and their sense of style. The ring was in a trembling hand, turning over slowly as the man looked down at it nervously. Was he making the right decision? He didn't want to mess anything up.
"Are you that worried about it?" Cepheus asked as he looked back at Albus, eating some of the salad he'd ordered at the diner. Sure, it was so soon after they'd gotten back together, but Albus was planning to wait a month or so before he
actually asked the question. He didn't think he had anything to worry about. "Scorpius has loved you for a long time, Albus."
"I know." Albus nodded, his eyes still focusing on the ring in his hand. It was just that... he was so worried. Worried that it may be too much for his boyfriend. They
had just gotten back together, after all. And Scorpius didn't seem like he really wanted to settle down, even if he wanted to move to New York with him. There was a nagging feeling in Albus's gut telling him that it wasn't something that Scorpius was going to want. That they weren't endgame and that he'd be alone for the rest of his life, because Kit certainly wouldn't take him back after this.
And he didn't even really want Kit back. He wanted Scorpius and he wanted Scorpius to want him back more than anything in the world.Marriage was a huge commitment, but Albus wanted it so bad. He wanted to be married before they moved to New York. He turned the ring back over in his hand and let out a soft sigh. "Do you think he loves me enough?"
"I think he loves you more than the whole world." Cepheus told him, nodding his head. "Don't dream it. Be it, Albus. You know that even more than I do."
Albus nodded and stood up. "You're right." He told him. "If I've learned anything from musicals, it's that I have to be a man."
Cepheus couldn't help but snort at that, standing up with Albus. "Let's get down to business. To defeat..... Well. I don't know what we're defeating."
Albus glanced at Cepheus. "My low self-esteem. Let's go."
