Pansy was lounging on a chaise in the sitting room, waiting for her kids to come and find her. She'd sent for Cepheus nearly an hour before, but he was a teenage boy now. He was probably wanking somewhere and she really didn't want to walk in on that.

In all honesty, Cepheus had been laying in his bed staring at the ceiling. He really didn't want to go down yet. He was still tired. He pushed himself out of bed and walked across the hall. "Dad will be home from work soon. We're supposed to go down." He told Scorpius after peeking his head in the door.

Draco came home from work to find Pansy laying in the sitting room, looking slightly impatient. He smiled a little. "Waiting for the kids?" he guessed, shrugging off his robes for an elf to take, after handing it his briefcase.

Scorpius looked up at Cepheus from reading his book on Ancient Runes, grumbling a bit. "I'm exhausted," he said. "They can't throw us a huge party and then make us get out of bed the next day." He sat up, bringing the book with him as he left the room to head down with Cepheus.

"Yes. As always." Pansy nodded and then got up so she could wrap an arm around Draco's neck. She kissed him lightly on the lips, then fell back to where she was sitting, patting the spot beside her. "Tell me about work."

"Of course they can. That's how they are." Cepheus came into the room and sat on his brother's bed. It was a proven fact that Scorpius didn't care that much for him and Cepheus didn't understand why. "She didn't call for Rory. Why do we have to go?"

Draco kissed Pansy back, then joined her on the chaise, laying back so his head was in her lap. He shrugged. "We're trying to get a treasure trove of goblin-made items given back to the son of their original owner. The idiot had them in Gringott's and when he did the goblins reclaimed them as their own. Negotiating with goblins is impossible, but I make three hundred galleons an hour so it's not bad for our bank account."

"Maybe we're going to get a speech about being the eldest," Scorpius said. He put his book down and pulled on a new shirt. "We should go before she sends the house-elves up to chase us down."

Pansy looked down at Draco and began to softly pet at his hair. She loved petting at his hair. "I've thought about getting a job. A small one. Now that the kids are grown I have nothing to do all day."

Cepheus sighed heavily and shook his head. "I think we should make her come up here. And get us. Why should we always have to go to her?"

"A job?" Draco repeated, trying not to frown at the thought of Pansy working. "I... well, I know I enjoy it. You probably will too. What were you thinking of doing?" Maybe he was a bit old-fashioned about some things. He just wanted his wife to be able to stay home and be happy there.

"Because she's our mother?" Scorpius suggested, raising an eyebrow at Cepheus. "Because she carried us around in her body for nine months?" Maybe being the least favourite made you more grateful.

"I don't know. I hadn't thought too much about it." Pansy replied and then sighed softly. "And it's not as if I have any specific skill set. I miss having babies around. Perhaps I could run a small daycare."

Cepheus grumbled. "She's always coddling me. She probably wants me to come fix her hair or something. She loves playing dress-up."

"We could buy you a lot in Diagon Alley to open it in," Draco agreed, after thinking about it for a moment. "You could have a room full of babies that you get to send home at night. You just can't fall in love with any of them."

Scorpius frowned at Cepheus. He didn't hate him. He just didn't like hearing about all the things their mother made Cepheus do that he'd never gotten a chance to do with her. Cepheus always sounded ungrateful to him. "There's nothing wrong with her coddling you. It just means she loves you, Phe."

Pansy laughed at that and nodded. "Okay." She told him. "It's so hard not to fall in love with children. What if I just work at an orphanage? Or do charity work for one."

"Whatever." Cepheus rolled his eyes and stood up. "We should go downstairs. Dad is probably home by now. So like.. whatever." He walked out of Scorpius's room.

Draco had a feeling Pansy working at an orphanage might mean a kid or two found their way into the house, but he didn't mind the idea as much as her stealing someone else's baby. "I think that sounds like a good idea," he said, looking up at her and smiling. "You'd be good at that."

Scorpius rolled his eyes back at Cepheus when he left, then went after him, following him downstairs towards the sitting room where their parents were waiting for them.

"We're here, mother." Cepheus announced as they entered the sitting room. He looked at his mother and father on the chaise and wrinkled his nose. "You two should get a room."

"Sadly, the entire house is our room." Pansy sat up a bit and looked at her sons. "Since we own it. You'll have to learn to adjust."

Draco laughed, sitting up and running a hand through his hair to straighten it out a bit. He wrapped an arm around Pansy instead and settled back on the chaise. "You're lucky to have parents that care about each other."

"It doesn't feel lucky," Scorpius said, taking a seat across from them and then looking between them. "What did you want to see us about?"

"I wanted us to have some quality family time together." Which wasn't true. She'd only called for Cepheus, but he must have gotten his brother. The poor boy probably thought that he was in trouble and was dragging his brother along. "Since your father had just come in from work. The two of you used to run to see Daddy when he got home."

Cepheus shrugged. "We grew up, Mum." He informed her, then crawled in between his parents, snuggling up against his mother. "We're not kids anymore."

"Well, we're not completely grown up," Scorpius said, watching Cepheus cuddle with their mum. He stayed where he was. He was pretty sure their mother would appreciate him more if he didn't try and crowd onto the chaise too. "We're just not six. I'm sure Dad appreciates us not jumping on him every time he comes home."

Draco laughed. "It was sweet whe you were little," he said. "Your mother and I were actually just talking about how she misses having babies around the house."

Cepheus frowned at that and shook his head. "You're not allowed to have more kids. It's forbidden." He informed his mother. "You already had another baby with Dad. A girl."

"I'm not so bad." Aurora informed her brother as she entered the room with an armful of roses she'd helped their grandmother pick from the garden. "Welcome home, Daddy."

"Helping your grandmother in the gardens?" Draco smiled at his daughter. If he was the kind to play favourites, Aurora would have been his favourite. He patted the edge of the chaise. "Come in and sit down. We're having family time."

He looked at Cepheus. "She was talking about getting a job, actually. Or maybe volunteering at an orphanage. I think it's a good idea."

"Mummy working at an orphanage?" Aurora asked as she sat down beside her father, then beckoned Scorpius to come sit beside them. "I don't know. I feel like she'll end up adopting all of them." She put the flowers in an empty vase beside them, filling it with water with a spell.

"I would not." Pansy told her daughter and shook her head. "I'd get to see them every day at the orphanage. It's not as if we don't already donate to them."

"I'm expecting one or two to come home with her," Draco agreed, laughing and brushing his hand against Pansy's. "But it's better than you working at a daycare centre and stealing children who have parents."

Scorpius shook his head when Aurora beckoned him. It was plenty crowded without him trying to join them. "Well, there is lots of extra room."

Pansy looked at Scorpius when he spoke gain. Sometimes, he looked so much like his grandfather. She could see it in his eyes and his mouth. The way he carried himself. She frowned at him for a moment and then stood from the chaise. "What does everyone want for dinner?"

Cepheus rolled over when his mother got up and shrugged. "I don't know. Something." He told her. "Can we eat something greasy tonight?"

Scorpius caught his mother's frown, feeling a little confused by it. He was awful at getting her approval and he wasn't completely sure why. "Didn't you have enough grease yesterday? You ate so many chips."

"Cepheus has a Malfoy metabolism," Draco said, waving a hand. "He can eat all the chips he wants without them affecting him. It's like your grandmother and her cakes."

"I was lucky to get the same metabolism." Aurora pointed out and then kissed her father's cheek. She smiled at him and moved a bit of his hair that had fallen out of place. "Tell me all about work today, Daddy. At least... what you can tell me."

Cepheus rolled his eyes and jumped on top of Scorpius, knocking him down to the ground. "I'm not fat."

Draco gave Aurora a fond smile, wrapping an arm around her. "Negotations with the goblins," he said. "I can tell you what I've told your mother. We're trying to get some goblin made family herilooms back from Gringotts, but the goblins see them as theirs and they're not budging so far."

Scorpius let out a surprised squeak when Cepheus jumped on top of him and knocked him off the couch, raising his arms to try and push him off. "I didn't say you were!"

"Goblins are such awful creatures." Aurora wrinkled her nose and shook her head. "They're thieves and they think that everything belongs to them. It's totally ridiculous." She informed her father. "I think it's awful that they run the bank. I hate getting money from there."

"You said I'd had too many greasy foods!" Cepheus began to tickle his brother, keeping him pinned against the floor. "You're such an arse."

Draco snorted, touching Aurora's hair. "Goblins aren't that bad," he told her. "They're the best guards our money could have. This family is only having trouble with them because they were stupid enough to leave goblin-made objects in their vaults. You'll notice all our goblin-made things stay in the manor."

Scorpius began to giggle helplessly, trying to twist freee from Cepheus's gasp. He hated being tickled. Cepheus knew he was ticklish. "I -- I am not!" he protested. "You did have too m-many!"

"I'm not even sure what we have that is goblin made. I don't pay much attention to those things." Aurora pointed out and then let out a soft sigh. "Do you keep them in the wing that we're not allowed to go into?"

"I did not!" Cepheus informed his brother between fits of laughter. "I ate just enough. Xavier ate more than I did!"

Draco paused. The wing they weren't allowed to go in was a bit of a touchy subject. "No, they're... Our silver is goblin-made. So is a lot of your mother and grandmother's jewellry. Other little things around the house. The wing that's off limits is just old and dangerous."

"He's a Macnair!" Scorpius gasped, trying to shove Cepheus off him or twist out from under him. "Oh my God, I hate you. Stop before I pass out, you jerk."

"I wish I owned grandmother's jewelry." Aurora pouted at her father. "It's all so beautiful. All I have is that locket Mummy bought me. It'd be nice to have really good jewelry to wear."

"Well..." Aurora was such a Malfoy. She had his pout. He touched her hair. "Christmas is only a few weeks away," Draco pointed out. "Maybe you'll get some good jewelry then." He could make sure she did.

Draco laughed, ruffling Aurora's hair. "I'm sure your mother would be happy to hear you thought so," he told her. "Even if she thinks she's not going to bring any of them home."

"I said I'd do it if I could, didn't I? I know she wouldn't like it." Scorpius pushed his brother off him and sat up. "You are getting fat though, no matter what Dad says. You haven't sat on top of him recently."

Cepheus frowned at Scorpius and hit him hard in the face. "You're just jealous you're not as good looking as me."

Draco looked down at the dragon and laughed. "It is," he said. "And I would have been able to guess who gave it to you without you having to tell me. It screams that it was from your father."

Scorpius winced when Cepheus hit him, reaching up to touch the spot he'd been hit, frowning at his brother. "At least I'm not a spoiled brat." He rubbed his cheek and got to his feet. I'm going back to my room. You're so annoying."

"No, I don't think they would. They're boys," Draco agreed, looking down at the dragon. "Boys don't usually understand things like pretty statues."

Scorpius wasn't a prick. And he didn't like Cepheus coming out and confirming that their mother didn't like him. He turned and shoved Cepheus hard. "Just leave me alone!"
