Charlie is a rather rugged young man, and his years outside have caused him to look older than his 26 years. Shortest and stockiest of the Weasley men, just over 5'7" and around 14 stone, he still bares the red hair and overabundance of freckles that have become the family trademark. He tends to find his hair growing back in a bit lighter though, most likely from all the times it has been singed off in his near decade as a dragon keeper.

Living his life mostly in the field, he cares little for all but the most necessary of personal upkeep. That is not to say he is dirty, just rumpled and unkempt. His hair allowed to grow out (though at times it is not there at all). He bares numerous scars from his profession, some healed better than others, mostly based on when treatment could be administered.

Charlie prefers to dress for comfort, finding muggle clothing to be some of the best. He has come to the realization that natural fabrics agrees the most with his chosen career, being wary of synthetics since the nylon jacket incident of 94. Though in all honesty, when working directly with dragons he wears common keeper kit, dragon hide gloves, boots and tunic.

Personality.


Charlie is best known as the reliable one. He has always been there, first as Bill's friend, then again to help with little Percy, assistant Twin wrangler, Ron watcher and buckler of little Ginny shoes. It is a role he has been more than happy to fill. It is in his dedication to others that he has found himself, and is happy.

Still there is much more than just his easy smile, soft laugh and comforting touch. He is competitive, but not with others, only with himself. A solid core of self-reliance runs through him, just as noticeable, to those who look, as the hair on his head. His years in Quidditch have made him a solid leader, but also an easy friend, ready to pick up a conversation where it was left off weeks before.

He always looks for and believes the best in people, ready to give a second chance. Yet once one has crossed him another time, he is forever wary of them, always ready for the gout of fire.

History.


Charlie grew up in Bill's shadow, but didn't mind as it provided shade. Much more to the fact, Bill and Charlie grew up as mates. Many were the adventures of pair in the back garden of the Burrow. Little changed as more started to join the family. Their adventures changed, but never the feeling of closeness, the feeling of family.

The first time Charlie felt anything akin to loneliness was when Bill left for his first year at Hogwarts. Being of a pureblood and magical family it was a full expected and normal part of life. Still the leaving meant changes. Charlie was now the eldest at home, which in turn caused him to become the watcher and "protector" of his younger siblings.

Soon enough it was time for him to attend Hogwarts, of course with a birthday as late as his caused him to need wait an extra spring. Still he could find little to complain about. He soon found that following after Bill people expected things from him though. Charlie found this odd as he wasn't Bill, so why should he be expected to be like him? He didn't want to compete with his big brother, the one who let him pick the games sometimes, the one who taught him how to chuck gnomes. Still everyone else seemed to think that is what he should do.

It was that sentiment that eventually drove Charlie to take the first of many choices that would alter his life path. At the very start of his second year at Hogwarts Charlie went out for Quidditch. He had originally wanted to be a Chaser, but all that changed during tryouts, when he seemed to be the only one capable of really following the Snitch.

This skill lead him first to Seeker and then to Captain. He still maintained his studies, earning 9 OWLs, out of 9 that he sat, in his 5th year. Still it was in his 6th year that everything fully clicked. That was the year that as Captain his Gryffindor team was able to take the cup. After the season, in his usual responsible manner Charlie announced that while he would still remain as Seeker, he was appointing Oliver Wood as Captain, to allow him to learn to be Captain, while still having guidance. This choice also allowed him to prepare to to be a Dragon Keeper upon graduation. Another choice made to be different, but not compete with his siblings.
