APPEARANCE: Cal is tall, with blonde hair and blue eyes. His features are lighter than his brother's, but otherwise they share the same good looks. It's easy to tell they're brothers when you see them side by side. He's slightly taller than Evan, standing at an imposing 6'3". Cal towers over a lot of people, but he doesn't mind it. He likes being bigger than others.
He has a nice smile, though you won't see it often. Cal is definitely a little quieter and more broody than his younger brother. He gives off a slight bad boy vibe with his tendency to brood and his penchant for violence. Cal likes picking fights when he's upset, sometimes with someone who can actually take him, so it's not rare for him to have his share of cuts and bruises.
Style-wise, he tends to dress in jeans and t-shirts, shorts during the summer. He isn't really all that concerned with fashion. Cal just tends to grab whatever's clean and walk out the door. He's not remotely vain about his appearance.

DETAILED PERSONALITY:Cal isn't exactly the out and open wear your heart on his sleeve kind of guy. Actually, it's debatable to some if he actually has feelings to begin with. He comes off as kind of an insensitive brute quite a lot of the time, but a big part of that is his unwillingness to share his thoughts and emotions with the world at large.
The truth is that he does have a heart. He merely keeps it well guarded. There are very few people in the world whom Cal will open up to and even they don't always know exactly what he's thinking. Letting people see those innermost thoughts feels like making himself vulnerable, somehow, and that's not something Cal really wants to see happen.
That's not to say he isn't willing to show the people in his life how he feels. Cal is a man of action, always has been. You might not always see the emotion in his expression, but his actions are a lot more telling. He'll often surprise those few special people in his life, whether it be by showing up to a special event or surprising them with a gift.
One girl, in particular, can tell you that Cal is one to just show up at random, for no apparent reason than just wanting to be there. Cal knows he's technically using her and to his credit, he does feel some guilt over it, even if it's not enough to actually stop what he's doing. Not, of course, unless he can find a way to get the girl he really wants to look at him with something other than loathing.
He's not quite as.. friendly as his little brother Evan, but Cal does have a few close friends. When it comes to dating, he tends to focus on one or two girls at a time. He has his eye on one girl in particular, but she doesn't seem interested. Maybe because she thinks he's an asshole. It's a common misconception with him and one he doesn't usually bother to correct.
He can be a bit of a bully, but mostly it's just him taking his more sullen moods out on other people. He has anger control issues and pummeling an underclassman is a pretty good way to vent. Maybe this is why people think he's an asshole...
HISTORY:
Cal is the oldest of four children, born just over a year before his little brother Evan. He was a bit of a surprise to his parents, but they weren't remotely disappointed to welcome him into the world and they doted on him as much as they could with the means they had. The Rossers have never been rich, but they did okay, well enough to provide for their children.
Cal was only a few months old when the Rossers found themselves expecting again. Another surprise, but a happy one. They named their second son Evan and he and Cal became the best of friends. As close in age as they were, they did nearly everything together, even if they had very different temperaments, even from that young age.
It was weird starting school without Evan after a few years of them being inseparable, but Cal managed. He'd never been quite as outgoing as his younger brother, but he made a handful of his own friends. The following year, it was Evan's turn. Cal never really resented the fact that his brother was the more popular one. He did acquire a few more friends that way, though. It was hard to be friends with one brother and not the other, after all.
When Cal was in the fifth grade, he got hit with a bad case of mono. Rather than only being out a few weeks, he spent nearly a month in the hospital. Even though he tried to catch up, the school refused to pass him on to the next grade. He hated that, at first, until he realized it would put him in the same grade as Even. That part was pretty cool. And 5th grade the second time around was a breeze. Truth be told, he was slightly bored and he tended to get in a little more trouble that year. It was hard to resist pulling pranks and talking to your neighbors when you'd seen all the material before.
Soon, the boys discovered girls and the next few years saw them getting their first girlfriends, first kisses, everything that came with dating. Cal was always a bit more reserved and didn't tend to juggle girls the way Evan did. He also wasn't such an obvious flirt. Instead, Cal focused on one or two girls at a time. He usually has at least one "friend" he can go to when he's craving some affection, but there's still that one girl he really wants who won't give him the time of day. Maybe someday he'll convince her to finally give him a chance.
