PERSONALITY

Justin Finch-Fletchley is a young man raised on old-fashioned values, but realistically intuned with the social behaviours of today's teenagers. He's the type of individual who respects his and other people's morals (or lack thereof), but he doesn't go out of his way to lecture or apologise for them. He's confident enough to stand by his word, but not entirely overbearing so that he can't relate to others.

With his goal oriented approach on life and his hard working attitude he more often than not gets what he wants 85% of the time. Whether it's a matter of getting the marks, the award, or the girl, Justin approaches life optimistically but with the knowledge that he might not get it right the first time. He's no stranger to failure, humility, or disappointment so he's open to taking challenges as they come. Because he reacts well under pressure it's no surprise that he's relatively good in leadership roles.

Naturally Justin enjoys the company of others and seeks it on a regular basis. He's made a point over the years to acquaint himself with anyone and everyone. He's not shy when it comes to introducing himself and he has no qualms about striking conversation with just about anyone. He's friendly and willing to help where he can. He's the type of individual that'll open doors and help a fellow student carry books regardless of whether he knows who they are or not. He's accustomed to saying please and thank you, and gives the proper respect to people of authority.

Despite his ability to be gentlemanly, Justin can still be a bit crass when in the right company. He is, after all, still a member of the male populous and it's not like he's entirely immune to the influences of his genitalia. Though he tries to be respectful most of the time towards females, it's not particularly uncommon that he make a sexist comment from time to time. Make note, however, he's cautious about censoring that kind of language around women and limits it to the company of other males who are willing to indulge such behavior.

In all Justin's an alright chap - or so he'd hope. He tries not to step on too many toes, but he's not particularly a lap dog willing to take a beating. He's confident, strong, and hopefully socially acceptable for others to enjoy his company.

PHYSICALITY

Height: 5'11"
Build: Athletic
Eye color: Green
Hair color: Light brown
Distinguishable marks: 3in scar on his right elbow from a childhood injury during football. A mole like birthmark on his left calf.

More: Justin Finch-Fletchley has always been physically active. Being a sports oriented individual he's played football since he was 6, rugby since he was 8, and polo since he was 12. Unfortunately, with his being at Hogwarts the only regular exercise he receives is climbing the stairs and occasionally tending to sit/push ups in the dorm. When he's feeling particularly stressed he's been known to jog around the grounds - but it's nothing he advertises to others. Dress wise, Justin favours collard button ups and maybe a polo shirt from time to time. He has his share of jeans, slacks, and tracky bottoms. Notable dress quirks include a collection of pins he wears on the left lapel of his school robes.

Muggle Friends: (mentioned throughout game)

o Schoolyard Mate || Alexander Ainsworth
These two were quick friends when they first started school at Laxton Junior School. It was a natural bond that has continued over the years despite their varying paths to the future. Their families have become closer thanks to the boy's early bond in life and because of this they've continued their friendship over the years. Alexander is an extroverted individual who helps Justin loosen up when necessary. He's currently attending Eton College with a number of Justin's other muggle friends and acquaintances, so they run in the same social circles when Justin is home. Alexander is by far one of Justin's closer muggle friends because of their mutual understanding for one another.

o Childhood Friend || Frank Hermon
Frank and Justin's friendship is a product of their mother's being the best of friends. Though their friendship isn't one of complete confidence they continue to keep each other close at hand. Having grown up together they generally share in each other's experiences and have a habit of reminiscing each other's most embarrassing moments in public settings. Deep down a great deal of their continued friendship is because of their having the same friends. In truth Justin doesn't trust Frank 100% and Frank seems to have issues with Justin not going with the pack.

o First Girlfriend || Linda Connarty
Linda and Justin had known each other since they were children through their parents and have had an on again off again like for each other all through primary school. It wasn't until the summer of 1993, did they reacquaint themselves on a more mature level. While Justin was busy stressing out over whether he'd return to Hogwarts or reacquaint himself with his muggle life Linda was the one person who was able to help the boy relax. They "dated" all that summer and tried a long distance relationship through the post - however eventually called it off that winter holiday due to having grown apart. They're still friends to this day, however, their relationship is far from romantic.

o First Love || Diane McFadden
Diane McFadden met Justin during the Finch-Fletchley's annual Christmas gala in 1994. Their father's were work related acquaintances and Justin was employed to entertain the girl. As the night waned it seemed they'd made a painless connection with one another that encouraged a lengthy exchange of letters for most of Spring 95. That summer they dated and moved into an exceptionally physical relationship. They were each other's first sexual partner and quite honestly each other's "first loves." Unfortunately, the relationship came to an abrupt end after Diane broke up with Justin in a letter describing her interests in someone else. Justin's still slightly bitter about it, thankfully they don't have the same friends and he doesn't have to see her very often anymore.

HISTORY

Born and raised on a well sized estate in Northampton, Justin Finch-Fletchley was the youngest son and middle child of Elise and William Finch-Fletchley. He was born into wealth and privilege, however, raised with a firm sense of duty and a humble outlook on life. He grew up on the notion that education was key and politics ruled the masses. His family had political ties to muggle England for many years and his father's position in The House of Lords amongst parliament helped generate an understanding for social politics in every circle.

Thankfully, his parents insisted on keeping their children grounded in reality despite the grandeur in which they lived. Despite the fact that they were a part of that aristocratic world, the Finch-Fletchley children were still accustomed to "earning an honest wage" around the house despite their having servants present in the home. Chores followed by monetary reward weren’t a foreign process and understanding the importance of earning something through work was instilled upon them throughout childhood.

As a child, Justin was headed by his brother Russle (6 years his senior) and followed by sister, Daniela (5 years junior) and was frequently at odds for parental attentions and recognition. Life as the tormented middle child had it's kicks early in life, but acting out was an approach that was quickly thwarted from his mind thanks to good fashioned corporeal punishment. Justin was encouraged to excel in his studies (at Laxton Junior School) and in competitive sports such as football, rugby and polo. Because of his upstanding grades, athletics, and family heritage, it's no surprise that he'd been expected to attend Eton College in 1993 just as all the males in the family had before him.

Surprisingly, two weeks after Justin's interview with Eton he received news from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Naturally there was some suspicions over the schools legitimacy even after the muggle liaison employee explained the situation and did a nice little floor show of magic in their living room. However, with the insistence Justin had on the subject it was eventually agreed that he'd take a trial year with Hogwarts.

First year went by exceptionally well. Yet, Justin's experience with the basilisk in his second year encouraged a particularly unfortunate situation with his studies considering he was out of commission for most of term. Thankfully, however, Dumbledore was willing to orchestrate a summer work load to keep the young man up to par with his peers. Unfortunately, while dealing with the summer homework, his parents were very torn on the aspect of his returning to school if dangers were so high at "that wizarding school." He was pressured by family and friends to drop out of Hogwarts and continue his studies at Eton the following year, and for a time he seriously considered the option. With the realization of how different he was when compared to his family Justin returned to Hogwarts eager to continue his studies and discover who he might become.

The wizarding world opened the muggleborn to an independence he'd not expected to find. Being a Hufflepuff Justin found himself extremely optimistic about his future. Hardworking and determined to prove himself, the young man excelled in his studies. To his surprise he had a natural ability with charms and an affinity for ancient runes. Socially, Justin got along decently with his housemates as well as students in other houses. As a social outlet he took part in extracurricular activities like Charms club, Ancient Runes Club, and even stretched his political wings with Dumbledore's Army. Unfortunately, his skills on a broom weren't as natural as he would have liked, so he settled for watching the elaborate sport of quidditch from the sidelines.

Now entering his seventh year, Justin is already being encouraged to look to the future. At this point he still isn't 100% what he'd like to do when he "grows up." And in many ways he putting off making that final decision. He has leanings towards pursuing a career as a Cursebreaker, but then again he's not opposed to working in the muggle liaison office at the Ministry either. If all else fails, he's already been assured his father and/or brother have enough connections to get him a job somewhere in muggle government. He's decided his main focuses at this point will be acing his N.E.W.T courses load and then seeing where that all gets him in the spring.
