WHO: Tony Chang, Cho Chang, and Andrea Johnson!
WHAT: Surprise after surprise!
WHERE: Dance Studio!
WHEN: Tonight?!

“Daddy, your feet are dancing.”

Tony looked down at Cho, who covered her mouth as she giggled excitedly. His feet certainly were dancing as they tapped and bounced in nervousness. He couldn’t keep still, not when he was about to do the biggest thing he’d ever done. Not when he was about to ask the biggest question he’d ever asked! Not when he was about to receive the biggest response he’d ever get---responded?

“I’m excited, aren’t you?” he asked, kneeling to the ground to get on eye-level with his daughter. She nodded happily, causing the flower crown in her head to slip in front of her eyes. Tony adjusted the headband and secured it swiftly in place with a pin. “Do you remember what to do?”

“Yes!” she chirped, bouncing on her toes. “When you ask Drea to dance, I turn on the pretty lights!”

“Perfect!” Tony exclaimed, putting his hand up for a quick high-five. “And then what?”

“And then--” Cho began, but the sound of heels clicking on the wooden floor of the dance studio hit their ears. Tony and Cho shared a surprised glance before the little girl darted off to her hiding spot. He straightened up, fixing his tie, and grinning widely as Drea appeared in the doorway.

“Hello, my lady!” he said, trying not to sound nervous at all. “Are you ready for your surprise evening with your number one fan?”

Drea was in the midst of a whirlwind day. She felt like there had been a flurry of activity in the past twenty-four hours; with appointments and the start of Quidditch back up, and so many things still up in the air as far as her career were concerned--but Drea would never turn down time with her boyfriend.

She smiled at him, feeling a little nervousness herself. "I was born ready, Chang," she replied with a grin as she stepped toward him, pressing a quick kiss to his lips. "Surprises are my favorite, after all."

Tony grinned widely; he was feeling some courage surging through him with her kiss and smile. Surely he could handle something as easy as a question. A life-altering question, of course, but it was really just a question.

But what if she said no to this life-altering question? Drea was a very determined, excellent quidditch player! What if this sort of question got in the way of her career goals and triumphs and he was left in the middle of the dance floor, floundering in despair?

No, no! Think positive, Chang! Tony took Drea’s hand and led her through a set of double doors, silently reminding himself to thank Estella for canceling classes tonight. The room was dark, save for a few flickering candles that lit the corners. “Would you like to dance?”

Tony smiled in anticipation...and nothing happened. He cleared his throat and said, a bit louder, “Would you like to dance?”

There was only a moment’s pause before the electrical lights he and Cho had strung up around the room turned on. Lots of muggle Christmas decorations were being put into good use, and he was glad that he’d kept some of his own childhood traditions alive. The music began to play a moment later, and Tony really hoped she remembered dancing to this song that fateful New Year’s Eve.

Drea's breath caught as the lights flicked on, lighting up the whole studio. She was caught up in the moment too much to laugh at Tony's repeating of himself--wondering if he'd placed the room on some sort of voice activated charm.

She took his hand before stepping closer, feeling butterflies in her stomach as the music began to play, and a small smile of recognition fluttered across her face. "Impeccable taste in music, that is," she murmured softly.

She remembered! Tony’s smile spread so far across his face that his cheeks hurt. He had to hold her tight to keep himself from bouncing all over the dance floor. Tony let the song play out, especially since the lights had twinkled accordingly, and let some idle chatter fill up the time before it because an epic staring contest between the two. Though, really, he could probably stare at Drea all day without getting tired of it, and had been caught by Adrian for doing such a thing.

Usually it was followed by a slap to the back of his head, but.

The song ended, an instrumental version of it now playing to keep the mood right. Tony sucked in a breath, not wanting to drag this out more than necessary because he really, all he wanted to do was snog her and get the rest of their lives started.

“I love you, lots,” Tony said, heart thudding. “You know that, right? And Cho--loves and adores you, I couldn’t have asked for a better woman in her life. I--can’t count my blessings, truly.”

Oh, he was going to puke. Tony let out a shaky breath, taking Drea’s hand and dropping to one knee. The ring box that had been burning a hole in his pocket was finally pulled from its hiding spot.

“Andrea Yvette,” he said with a cheeky grin, as he usually used her full name to tease her. He opened the ring box and let out a breath, “will you marry me? Will you?”

Drea could feel all of the emotions that had been bearing down on her in the last few weeks hitting all the right nerves as they danced, and it was all she could do to stop herself from tearing up at the very sweet, if not slightly planned, moment. She loved that she had this caring man in her life, who wanted to surprise her and keep her guessing and on her toes at every turn. it killed her when there were surprises in the mix, because the wait was nearly unbearable every time (even if surprises were still her absolute favorite), but he’d done a fantastic job of keeping this whole evening to himself, if she did say so herself.

At his speech, she nodded along, feeling herself finally tear up--because she knew that he meant every word he was saying. She was no longer a train wreck, she deserved to be with him and to be happy and they were public and it was so thrilling that they had taken such large steps and survived and were still together and--well, it wasn’t a thing that necessarily came with her chosen career field, was it? So when he dropped to one knee and pulled out the ring--oh, it was so gorgeous!--she could feel the tears slowly rolling down her cheeks, a large smile covering her face. She nodded enthusiastically before dropping down to her own knees to embrace him. “Tony, I--I was going to tell you this evening because--but now I--” She felt that same nervous feeling in the pit of her stomach. No, she couldn’t just shy away from it because of this--he had a right to know.

She sucked in a deep breath. “Tony, I--we’re pregnant,” she said finally, her voice soft and nervous.

Tears! A hug! Nodding! Tony could feel his heart soaring, he let out a happy, happy laugh at her acceptance, and he listened to her words with wild, thrilled eyes.

Wait.

He blinked, looking quite confused. Did she say? Had she--Tony blinked again, but now his eyes widened to the size of quaffles. How could--but…

“Pregnant?” he managed to squeak before they were attacked by a squealing, hug-bearing Cho. She wrapped her arms around their necks, Tony feeling ready to pass out from the shock of Drea’s news and now, a lack of oxygen.

“Hooray, hooray!” Cho shrieked, letting go only to jump and bounce around. Tony’s grip around Drea was still tight, and he gulped.

“Can we handle two of those?” he asked, nodding his head toward his daughter, who was now doing cartwheels. He let out a strained laugh; well, at least he’d proposed before this became one of those shotgun weddings, yeah?

A Cho sighting was the last thing Drea had expected to see tonight, but she gave the girl a bright, albeit distracted, smile as she hugged and dashed away. “I--surely between the both of us, we can. It’s not so hard with Lina-Bug and her brothers,” Drea murmured, turning her eyes back to Tony. Granted, her niece and nephews were only hers to watch for short amounts of time, but Angelina had a few years on the youngest and had blossomed into helping hands in the process. Drea had no doubt that Cho would do the same after a year or two.

This was good news though, right? Unexpected and perhaps a bit early, but...still good. “You and I could take on the world, twinkle toes,” she added after taking in a breath of confidence before offering him a reassuring smile.

All the panic that had just erupted inside of him vanished, or at least, was pushed aside at Drea’s smile. Right. Right! They could take on the world. That’s why he’d built up the courage to ask her to marry him, yeah? He wanted to get their lives together started on the right foot, he wanted to build a family and future with her. So what if they were starting a bit earlier than expected?

Okay, a lot earlier than expected, but.

“Ready and raring to go,” he said with a laugh, kissing Drea soundly as Cho continued to cheer.

Drea didn’t need a cheerleader to encourage her to return the kiss--but it was still nice to have their little cheerleader around. She moved her hands to the side of his face, returning the kiss eagerly before pulling away breathlessly a few moments later. Oh, Merlin, they had so much to do! Invitations and ceremonies and sorting out this and that and everything inbetween, all while taking care of Cho, balancing two busy schedules (not to mention sorting hers out), and going to a million and one appointments with Healers.

“Good, because I’ve got a feeling we’re going to hit the ground running, without a moment to spare on looking back.” She punctuated the sentence with a kiss before grinning. “I love you, Tony Chang,” Drea added, letting out a soft, content sigh.
