[Who?] Keegan Robins and Ashlyn Cooper
[When?] A late night after drinking the night after of the McKinnon death.
[Why?] Because we wanted to.
[Where?] Keegan's home and Ashlyn's bedroom.
[Rating?] PG at most.

This was a similar situation for Ashlyn, wasn't it? She was a bit tipsy, but overall content with things. She probably should have invited Klio over--what with the state of her family and all--but the raiding of her father's very well stocked liquor cabinet was a last minute decision with Heather, her childhood friend from Primary school. Unfortunately, Heather left the house pretty early and now Ashlyn was stuck with nothing to do. She tried to occupy her time the best she could, but she'd already finished her holiday homework and didn't really feel like watching telly at the moment. She was pouting a bit as she thought and then--ooh, Keegan was probably bored!

But...she'd promised to never apparate while slightly tipsy or drunk ever again, so that was out. But...she was set up on the floo network for the summer! She could just...head over there and then see him and it would be perfect! Yes! She grabbed a pinch of the floo powder she kept by the fireplace and threw it in, watching the flames of the freshly started fire turn a shimmery green. She stepped in, and trying very hard to do so, stated Keegan Robins' name. Thank god he didn't have a lot of S or M sounds in it. She'd probably end up in a foreign country if that was the case!

She stumbled out of the floo and onto the hearth of his home. Ooh, she just realized that his mum might be home! Bollocks, she had bad luck about these things didn't she?

Keegan was working around the house, cleaning. He had music blared up and was shaking his bum along with The Beatles. His parents had left for the weekend and like the good son he was had decided to clean up a little bit. He had made most of the mess anyway. While Ashlyn had finished her summer coursework. He had not and had been doing it most of the night at the last moment. So he had grabbed junk food and his books and got to work and through the course of the evening they had scattered around the house. In other words, Keegan got frustrated and threw the book across the room.

He smiled at the thought of Ashlyn. So much was going on right now and he hoped that she would be okay with the new developments with You-Know-Who and his followers. It seemed almost as if The Daily Prophet was ignoring everything that was going on. Which was suspicious and a little bit dumb. If they ignored it how could they let the people know? He shook his head at the thought, no time to think of politics.

He heard someone out of his floo and saw the girl who had been first and foremost of his thoughts and smiled at her. Until he realized that Ashlyn was drunk and narrowed his eyes. He kept his tone light knowing how easily she could get upset when she was knackered, "Hey love, what're you doing over here so late at night?" He put his wand in his back pocket.

She dusted herself off a bit, wondering where he was at and then--"EEE! KEEGAN!" She excitedly rushed over to him to give him a hug. Ohhhh, he was nice to hug. "I came over...because...I missed you," she said slowly, still trying to think of exactly how she'd ended up at his home. She was no longer hugging him tightly, but still had her arms around him, holding him close to her.

If she had been level headed, she would have noticed the abnormal mess around them and asked about it, but right now she was just ready to be close to him and it was all her mind could really think about. She swayed a bit to the muffled music he had playing, leaning up to give him a short kiss.

He wrapped his arms around her quickly and held her by the waist and kissed her back. "At least you didn't Apparate this time," he muttered and swayed with her for a moment. He let out a deep breath and a sigh. "Ashlyn. Why're you drunk?" He didn't mind drinking, it's just then usually when she tended to drink she drank heavily and did things to make herself upset. While he usually had a beer to cool down. "What's wrong?" He asked softly and took out his wand while keeping a firm hold on her and turned the music off.

She shook her head quickly. "Nooooothing! One of my childhood mates came over!" she said happily, though she was pouting because he looked worried over her. "Really, I promise I'm fine!" She said, running her fingers through his hair. She was a little worried over the stuff going on with the Wizarding world, true, but she was living in the muggle world for the summer. She was working with her mum and taking care of paper work and...there was no reason for her to be depressed over things that weren't affecting her currently, right? To be honest, she wasn't even that drunk. She was still standing, she wasn't slurring her words too badly, either. And more importantly, she was with Keegan, so bad things couldn't possibly happen this time!

On his mind, there could be a few bad things that could happen. At least in his mind, "Baby, you're slurring. What did you drink?" He held her up again and started to move her to the couch. Drunk and standing usually didn't mix. "Why don't we sit down?" He asked softly. It was going to take a lot of willpower for him to say no to things she may demand but he was going to do it. "Why don't you ever stay at home when you're drunk?" he murmured softly and stroked her hair for a moment. He shook his head as if to clear out something from his head. He had a thought of getting just as plastered as she was and have drunken, sloppy sex. Neither of them needed that. Right? Right.

"I drank...brandy." She was pretty sure it was brandy, at least. Heather had grabbed the bottle and everything, so in all actuality it could have been anything. She walked carefully with him to the couch before flopping down. "I don't stay home because I want to see you," she replied, nuzzling her head a bit into his neck. She didn't really want to shag him at the moment, she just wanted to snuggle with him, fall asleep all cuddled in her arms (he brought that on himself by sleeping with her the first time...she liked the feeling of waking up next to him now). And no, drunken sex probably wasn't the solution to her showing up at his place after throwing back alcohol.

He groaned softly. She had done it by letting him have sex for that first time. His hormones were now in full swing and he shivered and wrapped his arms around her. "You should be at home. Resting." Resting her head on his shoulders he took a calming breath. This was going to be a long night. He kissed her temple and allowed her to snuggle into him. "What do you want to do baby?" He was trying to keep the questions simple and hoped it worked.

Ashlyn shrugged, letting out a content sigh. "I dunno, love. What do you want to do?" She didn't really give it much thought past 'Ooh, let's floo over to Keegan's place!' so now that she was here...she didn't know. She placed a small kiss on his neck without really thinking about it. If she really thought about it, being at his house would likely end in her getting in big trouble with her parents...especially when they realized that some alcohol had gone missing.

"I think it'd be a good idea for me to take you home baby." He nuzzled her cheek gently for a moment and sighed. "I just want you home and safe. It's not that I don't want you here," he stroked her cheek gently as he spoke, "I just don't know when my parents will be home and I don't think they'll take too kindly at me having my girlfriend, drunk over here." He kissed the top of her head gently and held her close to him and waited for her to respond with, he hoped, some logic that she was known for.

She pouted, quite displeased with this turn of events. "I don't want to go home," she said softly, kissing him. If she wanted to be home alone she would have stayed there instead of heading to--no matter, her thinking about it would not change the situation any, would it? She sighed, feeling slightly frustrated. "I want to spend time with you, love," she murmured, lifting her head so she could look into his eyes. "Promise me that you'll--you'll stay with me for a little bit? Not," she paused to yawn before letting her head fall back to his shoulder, "A long time." Good thing alcohol had the tendency to make her sleepy. His trip wouldn't end up keeping him out of the house for too long.

"Promise." He stroked her hair gently and held onto her. He drew Ashlyn into his lap and held her close. "Are you ready to go home baby? I'm going to apparate us both into your room. So we can avoid your mum for as long as possible." He kissed the top of her head gently and sighed. She felt so good in his arms and he looked around the house. It was, for the most part, cleaned up. If he decided to stay for a little longer and watch her sleep it wouldn't be a big deal. His parents were a little more understanding than her mother anyway. "Just say the word."

She nodded slowly, just glad to be held and glad that he was agreeing to her plan. "Let's go," she mumbled into his neck, letting her arms wrap around his middle for the trip. She was glad that he was taking control of the transportation this time, as she was in no position to do so herself. She wondered briefly if this sort of thing ever bothered him, her showing up so unexpectedly and out of the blue. He certainly never did it back and...well, if she was more sober she would probably feel guilty for her actions. All she was focused on doing currently was holding on tightly.

He drew a big breath and concentrated as much as he could on her room, "Hold tight," he didn't side-along very often and with a loud crack they appeared in her room unharmed and unscathed. "Alright Ash. I think it's time for bed." He didn't mind the random visits, he really didn't. He just tended to be a little more pragmatic than she did about that sort of thing and wanted a plan before he showed up on her doorstep just knocking to see what was going on today. It was just wasn't his way. It never had been. Even when he was smaller he used to plan play dates and which house he would go to. "You're home," he said softly and looked down at her with his lazy green eyes and small smile on his face.

"I can't stay the whole night but I'll be here until you fall asleep at least and then you can owl me in the morning okay?" She was still wrapped around him and he set her down gently on their bed. "I love you Ashlyn." As he said those three little words he looked down at her with a love and admiration in his eyes.

It was interesting how two people with such distinct differences made things work between them. Ashlyn, despite all the ability in the world to calculate and plan, seldom chose to do so and had yet to really truly learn from the consequences of her spontaneity (hey, she'd screwed things up with a friend the last time she drunkenly visited someone and she was still doing it, wasn't she?). She liked the freedom to go and have a chat with someone at the drop of a hat, without needing to send an owl or to schedule some time. But there they were, her and Keegan, trying to make a relationship work for them. Perhaps N.E.W.T.s would settle her down...or the weight of the war, or the state of muggle England. Perhaps it wouldn't.

She craned her neck up to kiss him. "I love you, too," she said happily, letting her body curl up against his before slowly drifting off to sleep.

He watched her sleep for a few moments and then sighed. He kissed her on the lips gently back. He opened her window for and slid out and walked down the street to a dark alley. With a loud crack Keegan apparated back into his bedroom. He rubbed his temples for a moment, thinking of Ashlyn and her spontaneity and just the thought of it gave him a headache. So he decided to sleep rather than dwell on something that he could never understand. He stripped down for bed and curled up to dreams of Ashlyn and the future that he was planning.
