Oz was born on a blazing hot afternoon, which may explain why he isn't really a fan of hot weather now. Imagine that, being a teeny baby and you're suddenly out and about being exposed to stupidly bright sunshine and hotness. Not good. He was two weeks early, but has been late ever since to make up for that. Oz's childhood was unusual, compared to most. His Father and Uncle inherited a massive house from their parents when they passed and instead of selling it, they decided to both live there. Oz's Mum moved in and her sister, as did Auntie Sophie. It being the seventies, no-one really batted an eyelid and it was also thanks to this hippy-commune style upbringing that he has a ridiculous second name. He was a happy kid and has lots of good memories from those early years. Being inseperable from Tiger-Lily played a big part in that and the two would often get into mischief -granted it was usually Tig who was the ringleader.

Hogwarts time rolled around and the cousins were split up for the first time in their lives. Oz going to Ravenclaw and Tig to Hufflepuff. For the first month or so, Oz found things highly unusual to say the least. At home, there hadn't been many rules, but at school they seemed to be endless. Lessons were a blur of information and practice and he excelled at most things. But homework was always left to the last minute, yes Oz had good brains, but he didn't really like using them. He would've much rather been writing lyrics or melodies.

Quidditch came as a bit of a surprise to him. He hadn't been as excited about flying as most of the other kids, but as soon as he sat on a broom he found it to be another thing he was capable at. Encouraged by Tig, as always, he tried out for the team in his fourth year and won a spot as Beater. He played for one year, then had to suffer through an odd sense of loss in his fifth year as the school played host to the Tri Wizard Tournament. The event was an eye opener and he was glad Cedric won. But he would rather the castle wasn't quite so crowded, even if it did mean he picked up some French and Bulgarian.

The Summer between Oz's fifth and sixth years was not a happy one. He was out wandering one evening, and had neglected to notice the time. It was a full moon and he was attacked by a werewolf. Unregistered or so twisted they didn't care about killing even on Wolfsbane. He was bitten on his side and upper arm. Luckily someone heard him shouting and the wolf was driven off before it could actually kill him, but his injuries had him in St Mungo's for a month and he spent his first transformation locked in a room on a secure ward.

Some moments are life-changing and that was Oz's. His parents wrote to the school, informing them of his situation. Luckily Headmaster Dumbledore was sympathetic to his plight and Oz was allowed to return for his final two years. He was registered and took wolfsbane during his transformations, getting locked away in a disused part of the dungeon by his Head of House every full moon. Despite this, he still managed to succeed in lessons and finished Hogwarts with 8 NEWTs.

Since leaving school, Oz hasn't done much with his exam results, despite the numerous offers. He took a simple job at the Ministry and much of his attention is taken by his music. He plays with his band at Never Never Land each month, but things haven't really got serious yet.
